Just love... and I'm so lame... just learning from a book that I got just before David Bowie died... The book went through every David Bowie album... and this song was mentioned about the inspiration for David Bowie's Low album.
And I can totally see that... now.
I have lots of Can and Neu!... but after reading the review of this album...it finally clicked to me to check out this song.
.... and from back in 1977....critics verdicts of Low were.,"it's oddly the music of now... not what is popular but what seems right for the times"... and also..."Low is the only contemporary rock album"..
All based on this song...this sound.

There is a great doc. on Krautrock called "Krautrock: a rebirth of Germany. It explain pretty dead on how and when Bowie was influenced by Krautrock. He was even going to record "Heroes" with German musicians.

Bowie definitely did his homework listening to this record. But what's funny is that the main melody is VERY reminiscent of Peter Gabriel's "And Through the Wire", which came out 4 years later. But personally, I think that is just a coincidence.

Now we know where Bowie got Heroes

One word to describe this song....simplicity. Definitely needs more views.
