The Decision of Partition of India and Pakistan on the basis of Religion caused great set back for the Common People of both side,even today, some people are happy that it was a good decision.I think, only those people who suffered, survived and started from the very beginning ,can realise the degree of Unforgettable pain even today, with regards from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India.

Such a powerful video...nostalgic...My Nana and Dada's stories in front of my eyes right now as I type this...May all live in peace, prosperity and harmony...!

I hate to sound so cynical but I think that peace, that "brotherhood" came from all being equally kept under the thumb the security of knowing that the others have about as much chance of getting out from under the boot as you do..
India should have been independent but it could not have been handled worse. I guess the empire didn't see much point is wasting time, recources and money doing it properly.

The seeds of partition were planted when the British first took control of india. Its written in history that they were shocked how all faiths and cultures got along and for the British to succeed they need to plant division. Divide and rule

Good to know that the comments section shows why partition was necessary even in 2020 if something like this was required I'd leave for the place where I'd be secure without any hesitation. Nothing belongs to you and don't take freedom for granted when others have given their lives for it.

It's all North Indian(Hindus+Muslim) Responsible for what happened during 1947 in Undivided India. Politicians widen the rift between the community which resulted into intolerance of staying peacefully together. Now the politician sowing the same seed of animosity between the two major community. So this archive film is of constricted realities of india somehow curtailed and shortened into a time frame of events recurring in of history. So india its students are taught this and that that india got freedom in 1947 and before that the history was black and white. And later discoveries were made and science technology progressed. But since 1600 a.d. some scenes are missing, as if indira gandhi and her aggressor sikh regiment of kamptee school nagpur were already involved in some mass killings of 1730s of bombay india atrocities done to change manipulate some things to get indian government acquisition and to fall of royalty states and families. One thing I don't understand is why the Sikhs didn't get Punjab and make Khalistan ? Because the Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib are in Pakistan while Harmandir Sahib is in India. How come Muslims got two countries but the Sikhs didn't?

My grand mom's family still lives in India but she migrated with her in laws to Pakistan. Her last wish was to met her brother in India but could not realize it. She is no more now( May her soul rest in peace!). Imagine a girl whose parents had died in her childhood and she had the only brother in whole universe and partition had stanched him as well.
