Thank you for this. I used to be a clean and tidy person whilst living alone but for some reason the last year or so has been a huge struggle for me when it comes to house work. I do all these same things you do but I never thought other people did this. It's good to know I'm not the only one and it's nice having videos like this to help spark the motivation!

OMG! How GREAT it is to see a real person that struggles and not one of those that can do everything and sounds like they think everybody else should be able to do everything. I googled, "realistic house cleaning", thinking to myself, yah right, it'll bring up all these "PERFECT" people. I am so grateful to you for sharing this, I struggle so much and I always feel like such a failure, but now, I feel like....oh okay....I'm not a bad person or a failure. I cannot thank you enough for sharing.

Soo relatable. I struggle with maintaining house and sticking to routines. It's a viscious cycle of working up the energy to clean and then it rapidly spiraling out of control.

I just want to say how grateful I am for videos like this. When I start letting my care-tasks slide, I usually need a “cleaning-companion” to remind me that there are a series of steps I can take to start making my space (and myself) feel better. Putting on something like this helps me get into action. It’s a win-win. Thanks so much.

Bar Keepers friend, a cleaner that works great on stains. Especially rust!
Also use the liquid bleach,, pour on the stains and let it sit overnight or the day and that should work too.

I myself get unmotivated. Happy I'm not the only one. Use to clean everyday. I don't know what happened, but it is a struggle.
Thank you for making this video.
Best wishes! Charlie

Also, please use a disinfectant when leaving food on dishes because bacteria will not die with only soap and water. To tell you the thruth, I use a little bit clorox to sanitize my dishes if I let it get to that point.

When I feel deppressed I try to use fispossables, so I don't end up with my sink all filled up with dirty dishes. Also, anither idea is to only leave out 1 cutlery set (a knife, spoon and fork) and one plate, one cup, and clean it every time after using it. Doing that also helped me to contain the mess.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, this is most of our lives, our real everyday lives. I have adhd but I also have body dysmorphia, in 53, it started after random facial swelling, I hardly go out, I hate light on my face, but not cleaning is destroying my self esteem. I no longer feel empowered, when things are clean I'm more confident, and forget about the damage the swelling done. When it's a mess, I feel horrible, everything Is so much bigger, and ps, your skin is beautiful and for doing this for us you deserve to hear that. I need this help to make my grandchildren proud to come here, they say they don't care, but I do 🤍🤍🤍🦘🇦🇺🦘👍.

@SimplyLibby -- if you haven't tried making a paste with baking soda and white vinegar, that's my vote for you on getting the tumeric/coffee stain out of your counter. If that doesn't work, hit up a Home Depot (or similar) store and see what they advise. The BP/WV paste has worked crazy-pants well for me in a bunch of situations. Good luck!

what a great job! I'm going to do mine in tiny bites of 1 foot square of counter - like take everything off of that space and put it wherever it goes.. my kitchen is huge and it's a little worse than yours so it's incredibly overwhelming to think "okay i'm going to pick up all the trash." it still won't look like I did anything.

oh, another tip about cutlery, my mom had a easier way to do them. The same dish bin you used to corral the cutlery while youre washing the other dishes fill that bucket with water, preferebly hot but not scalding hot and lots of soap swirl the water a bit and move on to the rest of the dishes once youre done with the main dishes using the same water just run the sponge on it with a small amount of soap and rinse you will find it will go fast cause the hot water and soap did half of the work for you,

Little tip from a bipolar sufferer, stack the dishes by category first also get a dish bin i got mine at dollar general for not too much, its a large square bucket for small stuff that is in the sink you can even use two since you have surface on top of the washer and dryer corral the cups and mugs in one and cutlery in the other, stack plates leave pots on the stove stacked to the best of your ability. then it becomes easier cause all you gotta do is pick a stack to start working on. usually I put cutting boards under, baking sheets all on the bottom them plates or anything flat. You get my jist, great video you're pumping me up with your positivity to deal with my own mayhem tomorrow. By the way I want to commend you for having the courage to show the ugly side of mental disorders I would not have the cojones to film my house in that state I am already mortified enough when people come over and I find myself profusely apologizing to whoever came to visit, don
t take offense I mean this in the most positive way possible. Kudos 🥴

For cuttlery, I find it easier to grab 3-4 similar items (all forks for example), and clean them as my hand lets go of them. An aunt taught me this trick, and it is truly helpful!

I truly feel like I'm watching myself !
I was so proud when you said the inside of your fridge is a project for another time, because I know how hard it is to take a step back and realize you are side tracking. Good job!
Little comment : I would suggest you change your cleaning from left to right, to from right to left. Because there will ALWAYS be pots and pans on that stove, so why not start here instead of moving the pans each time to the left side?

I watch Auri and she uses chlorine for those kinds of stains. Also, I’m diagnosed with dysthymia (they call it a different name now, it’s basically long term, chronic depression), anxiety, and adhd. One thing that has helped me immensely is becoming a minimalist. I don’t have too much because it just becomes too much for my brain, my eyes, and my lack of energy to deal with. I would suggest decluttering your kitchen to make it less overwhelming. If you only have 4 cups to clean, you won’t have as much to do and you will be forced to get into daily (or every other day maybe), types of habits with cleaning dishes. I have to do my habits daily or every other day otherwise I feel like trash and the stuff builds up. I mean, I have a coffee mug collection of 10 mugs, but I never get all 10 dirty. Everything else I only have 4 of. I used to have way more dishes and my kitchen would look like a bomb went off and I’d have a freaking meltdown just looking at it. Own less. It helps. Trust me.

I do the same "sorting" when I do dishes by hand, except I usually go glasses-cups-cutlery-plates-bowls-BIG STUFF. I don't really have a reason for it. Except with "normal" amounts it saves a water change maybe.

Hi Libby (from Australia). You are such a nice, normal relatable person, not one of those impossibly perfect influencers. I have ADHD and am bipolar 2; I have times where my home is pristine (unless you open a cupboard or drawer..) and then it descends into chaos...and the worse it gets, the worse it gets, til I'm totally overwhelmed, can't invite anyone over...I am NOT wealthy, but I employ cleaners once every few weeks to help me. True confession: once, when my dishes situation had got so bad, and they were smelling, I picked them all up, put them in a garbage bag and threw them away!!! Lived off disposable plates for a while, til ingradually replaced things.
