i think that the people and doctors who are against diets and exercising are lowkey really jealous about those who can move freely and actually support their own weight. Seeing how this doctor went through a diet to lose weight and couldn’t keep it... it makes me think they're all faking till they belive it 😂 or maybe till they encounter reality.

As someone who had a best Friend struggling with weight for all his life it's really appalling to say fat is healthy. No matter how we supported him with a healthy intake of calories, he couldn't stay on any diet. His favorite were sodas and processed food. To show him how much calories he had a day we added all the food of one day : 8000 calories. He was shocked, because he always said he wasn't eating much. It wasn't really the food, it was the drinks. Anyway, he is full in a depression and gets fatter every day.

A lot of people who cannot lose weight might have an underlying health issue. Don’t make them hurt themselves.

I lose weight recently and it’s been difficult to not feel more defensive and unsafe. Fat can make you feel more protected. That’s the idea.

Exercise is so good for you i dont understand im literally watching this while getting ready for my morning skate. The only risk I've ever had happen during working out was a broken ankle. But it was my own damn fault for not getting new skates.🤣

Exercise decreases risks of depression and makes you feel better about yourself. Plus its good for you all around that mixed with eating healthy.

One of the first people I knew who died when I was a child was my mom's best friend Judy. She had diabetes, and her doctor told her she had to watch her diet, lose weight, and try to live healthier. She refused to listen because she didn't care. And mom lost a best friend.

The thing is that being fat wouldn't make you sick if you were fat by eating healthy food. The thing that makes you sick is the yunk food. You can be skinny and have diabetes and heart disease a s high cholesterol from eating junk food. But really, can you be OBESE by Not eating junk food? Not likely lol so thats why being fat does make you sick, because its the junk food doing it, it makes you fat and sick. Its not that hard to comprehend. Those people are delusional.

Its very hard to believe anything they say when they start with "fat women" as if there arent fat man with the same problems. Also if youre scared that the doctor mentions your weight to meadure what wrong with you then lose weight. I guess they naver gave 1 thought in the direction that doctors dont ask thin ppl about their weight because their weight is healthy. And i dont mean being underweight with slim i am talking about being in a weight where youre like with a little fat but still appear thin.

I would love my doctor to tell me to lose weight or ask if I wanted help with weight loss. Instead what I get is, "Well, it's not always weight that's the problem" or "Only lose weight if you want to". I know I need to lose weight, my knees and feet tell me after a long work day. I would love a doctor to just be up front and not seem like they're pushing drugs.

I usually don't comment on videos but I have in this one because I just can't deal with this... I am doing a degree in Biomedical Science and, to me, it seems like this woman has never taken an Anatomy class or a Physiology class in her life! It irks me how someone who supposedly is a doctor and has a degree in Medicine can say stuff like this. I swear, I am doing my course and you hear of scary things... It was what I needed to start fighting again against my BED. And I am not giving up again because I am doing this for future me, and future me is going to be thankful. You can avoid, reduce the risk, or better your chances of cure for so many illnesses by just having a healthy lifestyle (balanced eating, exercising, getting some sunlight, a good sleep routine) and being on a healthy weight and body fat percentage. If you can give a better card deck to your future, why don't do it?
On my first day of class, when I started, my professor said the following: "Too much weight puts too much pressure on your joints, leading to early damage of the articular disks, elevating the risk for other conditions in the future". FIRST.FUCKING.CLASS! or, for example, "obesity is a state of permanent inflammation that disturbs the body's homeostasis (balance), elevating the risk for mutations to happen, potentially leading to cancer".
And I just want to lean in a bit on the cardiac remodelation thing. Cardiac remodeling is defined as a group of molecular, cellular, and interstitial changes that manifest clinically as changes in size, mass, geometry, and function of the heart. Basically, changes in the heart. The heart is a muscle. The reason for cardiac remodeling in athletes is that they put themselves under situations of physical stress that make the heart pump faster. Do this for a long time, and the heart starts changing, causing, most of the time, some hypertrophy of the left ventricle (the one that pumps blood for the whole body). This is what makes athletes have a slow resting rate because now the heart doesn't have to make as much effort as before to be able to pump the necessary blood. And you don't need to be a competitive athlete. Someone who exercises regularly tends to see this effect on themselves. Basically, your heart transforms itself in a way that it is no longer under so much stress while you exercise (one of the many wonderful things your body can do).
And I want to say that no one considers top athletes (I'm talking people like Usain Bolt, Eliud Kipchoge, Brigid Jepscheschir Kosgei, Nadia Comăneci, professional bodybuilders, competitive swimmers, etc) the example of health. They are people who put their bodies under an extreme amount of conditioning to be able to make those records and to be able to perform at the top ability for their sport. High-level sport is not considered healthy. Exercising is healthy, moving your body is healthy. Go for a walk, do a dance class, cycle to work, run a bit...
Obesity also puts a strain on the heart and causes cardiac remodeling. Excess weight causes cardiac remodeling because your heart has to make more effort to pump the same amount of blood. The difference between these two: an athlete's heart isn't under pressure 24/7 and an obese person's heart is.
And health is very easy to define: a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.

P.S. I'm sorry about the rant but I was almost dying inside hearing that "doctor"

40kg loss in one year is almost impossible if youre using healthy methods. I lost 20kg in 11 months and i was following a diet plan, did weight training 3 times a week and cardio 3 times a week to better my health and the effects were amazing. And they will last! Because i started alowly and build the routine from 0. No one can just jump in the middle of it and start doing everything at full volume immediately. That will burn anyone out and make them hate working out. It would never last. For the first month, all i had to do at the gym was to GET TO THE GYM. No matter what i would do there, it was enough just to get there. Next week i started to do some light lifting. Ect. Its all about building up the routines.

Those "Fat Positive" doctors should have their licenses revoked. They're violating the "Do No Harm" part of they Hippocratic oath - by spreading the lie that being fat is healthy and okay and won't harm anyone's health, they are harming their patients and anyone else that listens to their absolute nonsense. They should have their licenses revoked and have to put a disclaimer that they had their license removed for spreading misinformation on every video and post they make.

"I'm in danger because I'm oppressed by not having food and housing because I'm fat!"

Is fat. In a house. Clearly having internet access and the ability to make and edit videos. Yeah uh...no one's buying that. No one is buying that you can't get housing or food because you're fat, especially when you clearly have housing and are - y'know - fat. So food is obviously something you have access to. Yes, I am aware that it's highly likely for poorer people to have problems with obesity because of the quality of food available for cheaper and how processed it is - I live below the poverty line myself - but if she's a doctor the way she claims and taking care of so many patients, I doubt that's an issue for her.

As a doctor in internal medicine I can tell you that obesity is related to so many! medical conditions, that “doctor “ in the UK is delutional or does not know how to read a medical paper. There’s people that is obese and don’t have health problems NOW but no doubt overtime they have higher risk of diabetes, hypertension, cancer, joint problems etc etc.
