Upper caste Indians do carry their caste with them to America. Though they are educated they don't leave that baggage. You can see that same evil discrimination in Indian organisations in the United States too. It is more than what people are willing to confess. You can notice the same exploitation, caste based humiliation and caste based false supremacy undertones.

Oh, in America there are no untouchables. Really? Think again. What about the homeless or the pockets of criminality and poverty?
The roots of untouchability are not in a particular economic system, but in the human psyche ie the ‘need’ for ‘someone lower than you so you can feel good about yourself’. It could be managed through education and proper social engineering but the will to do so is not there.

She didn't tell much of her own story, but I find it mesmerizing that her vocabulary is that good and how well she expresses herself. Not that her being intelligent is impressive, but I'm assuming she probably didn't have much access to education growing up, because of the caste thing. And look at her english! It's better than that of some american celebrities.

This woman is very smart and knowleageable. Specially if you consider she came from nothing. India loses its best scientists, artists and entrepreneurs by treating people like this woman as only suited to menial jobs.
