Can you see your children when they are sleeping in the loft? As a mom, I would want to be able to see them. Also, I would be a little worried that a toddler would climb over the "fence" and get hurt. Also, how difficult will it be to clean the loft?

as one who's raised a few kids, I can tell you, you're going to have kids fall off of that and get hurt. I recommend adding some pickets to go all the way to the ceiling and screw into the framing. maybe consider some kind of sides that you can put up on the slide. you might want to consider putting some more padding down underneath maybe one of those puzzle pads. if you framed in some plexiglass windows on the loft it will probably look pretty good. and if you do the sides on the slide with plexiglass panels with a wood frame that would fit in with your design too. paint all the walls with washable paint. also when I did mine I sanded and finished all wood surfaces because of splinters.

Very cool but there might be a choking hazard with the fence . Kids love raping thing around thier neck if it slips between the boards just look for something to plug it .

How many packs of shiplap did you use ? At $100 for a 6 pack, It seems a bit $$ for my budget
