Maybe if you addressed him as Turd Ferguson things would've been different.
ОтветитьThat was one Fargo of a film!!!!
ОтветитьBurt was Excellent in that film
Ответить"Vinegar", I've never heard of cocaine referred to as that before
ОтветитьThis turned up in my feed. Yeesh, that photo. Gossip-meister party animal Andy Cohen palling around with PTA. The interest would be turned way up for me if AC would simply get himself out of the way in an interview with PTA who is a director of real accomplishment. The snippet was far too short. By the way, Andy, I hate what you've done with Bravo, a trash channel where the only non-trashy show (Top Chef) is treated like a seasonal annoyance, a weak sister in the cynical bid for viewership.
Ответитьyoung PTA was wild ha
ОтветитьI love Burt so much in that movie.
Sam Jackson turned down Don Cheadle's role because he didn't understand what the film was about. I guess Burt ultimately didn't have that luxury, but that he sucked it up and played Jack just as PTA directed speaks very highly of his professionalism. There's not a single flaw in his performance, and I don't blame him for being such a pain on set when his reputation was on the line.
It was another steller movie from burt he delivered a performance worth a thousand hard ons
ОтветитьI must comment again because I have always liked Reynolds while many don’t but I understand while many don’t. Nobody sabotaged Reynolds career more then himself. He did popcorn garbage like Smoky and the Bandit and loved it and continued to do more of that and when he does do something great like this he seems to try to fuck it all up. The fact that he did not know how great
He was in this makes me think he had very outtake idea what great
Film making is.
Burt Reynolds said he never even saw "Boogie Nights". Frankly, I LOVE the movie.
ОтветитьWhere’s the rest of the interview?
ОтветитьBurt was bullshitting…he knew what movie it was…he was just having 2nd thoughts
ОтветитьHe was phemomenal!
ОтветитьAll said, IMHO, it was Burt's best performance.
ОтветитьA lot of actors don’t much care for some of their movies (Meryl Streep dislikes The French Lieutenants Woman for example) - but Reynolds made an error by very publicly dissing the movie - until he started to win awards. His earlier stance on it probably cost him an Oscar.
ОтветитьOk, so Burt Reynolds is a complete utter boomer moron. Got it.
ОтветитьHe does Deliverance and all that entailed but had trouble with this!?
ОтветитьHow can you be a veteran actor and be cast as one of the main characters in a movie, and not get it???
ОтветитьBoogie nights. Magnolia.
Masterpieces. Burt Reynolds performance was perfection
he read the script, he knew what he was in for, and then complained non-stop during it and afterwards - I don't understand that
Ответитьhaha. he called him Markie. :D
ОтветитьWhen Burt won the Golden Globe, he was very gracious in his speech. He thanked PTA for his talent, calling him very brave for doing the movie as well as thanking the young cast.
ОтветитьDirecting Boogie Nights at 26....damn!!!
ОтветитьJust a fantastic film, "Boogie Nights."
ОтветитьBurt just sort of walked through Boogie Nights like alot of his films. He hasn't really acted since Deliverance.
Ответитьwhen viewing this film for the first time, years after its release, could not figure what all excitement was about.
ОтветитьBurt has said that if he could do it all over again, he would not have done the film. Had a miserable experience making the film and he never saw himelf in the film up until he passed away. And it was the film that earned him his Only Oscar Nomination
Shame, I thought it was his best performance
Burt Reynolds is dense
Ответить" I got John C. Riley, Marky Whalburg and Burt Reynolds in a jaccuzie and I'm filming it. This is a good day." - Paul Thomas Anderson
ОтветитьBurt actually fired his agent after he did Boogie Nights. It was the agent's idea to do the film and Burt disliked it that much. He actually turned down the role seven times before finally taking it. I always feel bad for that agent because he saw something that Burt couldn't and it only benefited Burt. I hope the agent went on to a good career with other actors.
Ответитьreally hoping pta goes back to make at least one more big ensemble type movie with his actors hes amassed over the years
ОтветитьBurt probably didn't get Deliverance either.
ОтветитьWhat was Burt’s problem with the film?
ОтветитьNice to see some nobody Podcaster knows more about a movie that he was not in didn't make and was p
a child when it was made than the actor than quaterbacked the whole movie... fantastically.
For all the issues Burt had with PTA and the suggestion that he "didn't get it" with the film, I think he turned out a hell of a performance. Jack was a very likable and believable character.
ОтветитьBoogie Nights is by far the best movie Burt Reynolds ever made, including all that Hollywood tat (Deliverance, Smokey and the Bandit etc.) which people remember him for.
ОтветитьBurt Reynolds was one of the greatest movies stars talented dashingly handsome and lots and lots of personality, there isn't anyone in Hollywood today can even come close to being a real star like Burt.
ОтветитьDamn, I thought that guy would take forever to ask just the first question. THEN the director is all, “Umm, I uh, well, it was, I umm think . . .”
ОтветитьIt's the worst PTA movie.
ОтветитьI like Boogie Nights, but it's still a hugely gaudy and derivative movie. I mean he ripped off Scorsese pretty hard...and it absolutely feels like a movie written by a coked up cocky 26 yr old film nerd. Burt is the best part though, no question.
ОтветитьIt was a great film and even Reynolds has said he liked the film but his problem was with Anderson. Maybe their issues made the film a better film because lets face it when I director like lets say Hal Nedum just let Burt be Burt is was cornball and not really serious. On the other hand when I director like John Boreman or Anderson may have pushed Reynolds he gives Oscar nominated performances.
ОтветитьBoth Mark and Burt regret being in that movie. So take that for what it's worth.
ОтветитьEveryone probably already knows, but Burt regretted doing Boogie Nights and fired his agent, and i believe he said that he never saw the movie. He also stated that he didnt think the director liked him at all
ОтветитьBurt Reynolds delivered the performance of a lifetime! Just amazing and amazing cast!
ОтветитьUsed to love Paul Thomas Anderson's movies; he lost me somewhere along the way but would gladly come back. Is Andy's voice getting more like Harvey Fierstein's or does he just have a cold? Sometimes he looks cute as a button and other times like he finds his own charm exhausting to maintain. Nice, if rather inconsequential, interview... from what I've seen Burt Reynolds himself summed up Burt Reynolds better than any interviewers could .
ОтветитьHe was Conan recently and said he hadn't seen it.
ОтветитьBurt Reynolds was great in Boogie Nights and anchored the entire film. Perhaps he didn’t realize the film’s dark undertones until he saw the finished product.
ОтветитьCrapping on a legend now?
ОтветитьIncredible cast
Ответитьwho gives a fuck,,, ,just watch Deliverance
Ответить
