Maybe if you addressed him as Turd Ferguson things would've been different.

This turned up in my feed. Yeesh, that photo. Gossip-meister party animal Andy Cohen palling around with PTA. The interest would be turned way up for me if AC would simply get himself out of the way in an interview with PTA who is a director of real accomplishment. The snippet was far too short. By the way, Andy, I hate what you've done with Bravo, a trash channel where the only non-trashy show (Top Chef) is treated like a seasonal annoyance, a weak sister in the cynical bid for viewership.

I love Burt so much in that movie.

Sam Jackson turned down Don Cheadle's role because he didn't understand what the film was about. I guess Burt ultimately didn't have that luxury, but that he sucked it up and played Jack just as PTA directed speaks very highly of his professionalism. There's not a single flaw in his performance, and I don't blame him for being such a pain on set when his reputation was on the line.

I must comment again because I have always liked Reynolds while many don’t but I understand while many don’t. Nobody sabotaged Reynolds career more then himself. He did popcorn garbage like Smoky and the Bandit and loved it and continued to do more of that and when he does do something great like this he seems to try to fuck it all up. The fact that he did not know how great
He was in this makes me think he had very outtake idea what great
Film making is.

A lot of actors don’t much care for some of their movies (Meryl Streep dislikes The French Lieutenants Woman for example) - but Reynolds made an error by very publicly dissing the movie - until he started to win awards. His earlier stance on it probably cost him an Oscar.

Burt has said that if he could do it all over again, he would not have done the film. Had a miserable experience making the film and he never saw himelf in the film up until he passed away. And it was the film that earned him his Only Oscar Nomination

Shame, I thought it was his best performance

Burt actually fired his agent after he did Boogie Nights. It was the agent's idea to do the film and Burt disliked it that much. He actually turned down the role seven times before finally taking it. I always feel bad for that agent because he saw something that Burt couldn't and it only benefited Burt. I hope the agent went on to a good career with other actors.

I like Boogie Nights, but it's still a hugely gaudy and derivative movie. I mean he ripped off Scorsese pretty hard...and it absolutely feels like a movie written by a coked up cocky 26 yr old film nerd. Burt is the best part though, no question.

It was a great film and even Reynolds has said he liked the film but his problem was with Anderson. Maybe their issues made the film a better film because lets face it when I director like lets say Hal Nedum just let Burt be Burt is was cornball and not really serious. On the other hand when I director like John Boreman or Anderson may have pushed Reynolds he gives Oscar nominated performances.

Used to love Paul Thomas Anderson's movies; he lost me somewhere along the way but would gladly come back. Is Andy's voice getting more like Harvey Fierstein's or does he just have a cold? Sometimes he looks cute as a button and other times like he finds his own charm exhausting to maintain. Nice, if rather inconsequential, interview... from what I've seen Burt Reynolds himself summed up Burt Reynolds better than any interviewers could .
