Save CPU in OBS - Convert MOV to WEBM for Efficient Streaming!

I have tried this and Shutter Encoder and all my transparent MOV files end up with a black background... Has anyone used this recently as I am running into so many dead ends for a simple overlay.

For some reason, whenever a WEBM file plays in OBS my frames on whatever game I'm playing drops by 90%. I have NO idea whats causing it, and legit, I havent found anyone else who has this problem!

Shutter encoder is a powerful front end for ffmpeg that does the same thing, just set it to encode into VP9, tick the alpha channel box, does it’s thing rapidly

You can also use shutter encoder to convert files from all sorts of stuff to webm! Just make sure to have the alpha channel ticked on in advanced settings. Not to steal any thunder from this convertor either but if you have a format that is different the one I mentioned might assist you. Happy Streaming Friends.

Is this only MOV to Webm or will it do mp4 to webm too?

If you need to convert MOV to WEBM on MacOS, it's sadly a little more work. I personally use ffmpeg to do this, but that does require a bit of technical knowledge.

what if instead of webm I convert my media vj loops to x265?
