Probably most reliable car I ever owned those 3.1's are tough motors
ОтветитьThis is my most favorite car my grandma had a dark cherry 96 Achieva and it also had a deck lid spoiler it was an awesome car.
ОтветитьI love Oldsmobile! I want one but they're hard to find
ОтветитьMy mom has this same style vehicle. Same color, same engine. 77k original miles. Purchased used in 1999 with 54k miles. Garage kept, 100% California car. A quintessential "grandama car". Nice highway cruiser but feels like a boat on rough waters when taking fast turns (as in interchanges).
Ответить2015 I bought a 3.1L 97 SL with 63k miles clean everything works pushes hard and not oil consumption and it come with the book...
Upgraded the door speakers for kicker midranges and install a Sony MEX-XB100BT,
I stored the original deck and speakers for originality purposes..
All LED lights and ZXE Sylvania headlamps and K&N air filter,
I keep it rolling on the original wheels
When is General Motors going to stop embarrassing the USA public, and the whole world for that matter? Most of their cars are laughable junk.
ОтветитьI think that one of my uncles used to own an Oldsmobile Achieva with the Quad 4 engine or might have been an Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Achievas are great cars, but the Oldsmobile Alero is a far superior car in my opinion.
ОтветитьI love it so much ❤️
ОтветитьOldsmobile had great design language. I had a 1998 dark red with a spoiler. That thing was awesome.
ОтветитьMy mom used to have a purple 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva that she named “Maxwell”. We had it for about 2 years before the camshaft broke.
ОтветитьI have the 1997 Achieva SL. Right now I’m trying to fix the AC does anyone know what compressor it takes?
ОтветитьDoes anyone know where the AC recharge thingy is at I'm having trouble finding it
ОтветитьI found one that it was under roof most all the time. Bought this car on 10/10/2015 with 68596 miles. Pass CA smog inspection with almost 0 on all measurements.
I keep it as an emergency car.
I just did the rear brakes today.
Swap the stock radio for a Sony MEX-XB100bt and the battery for a yellow top optima 78 series, door speakers for 6" kickeers and alpine series E 6x9 on the back, new tires, tune up, wheel hubs, new tires and radiator.
Still have the OEM cathalitic converter.
I loved my Achieva. Great car all around, felt ahead of its time to me.
ОтветитьMy 1/2 brother had a car like this once. This car was more reliable then his 97 Ford Thunderbird.
ОтветитьMine has driver power seat
ОтветитьMe interesa cúanto vale cual es el presio
ОтветитьI had a 4 cylinder Achieva that was the schools old drivers ed car lmfao
ОтветитьMY aunt had a purple 2 door with a 5 speed manual leather all options and she taught mw how to drive on it and it had a v-6
ОтветитьHad a 95 , loved that car
ОтветитьI love these, to me they're the Quintessential "Liminal Space" car. That term has been twisted stupid by the pop internet but I am referring to a place that feels familiar yet you almost certainly have never been there before. Most of us remember the 1990s like this, but the effect is thanks to patterns in land and housing development. You could find a neighborhood of say colonial style homes and it would look a way and then you find another development from around the same time and its almost the same. There were more variations by then but a similar effect can be observed in the main street of many mid-century developed midwestern small towns.
The car is like that because it is similar to its platform siblings the Pontiac Grand Am, Buick Skylark, etc but it is also the most background of them. You probably knew someone who had the Pontiac, and maybe the Buick. I'm positive i've seen these back then but it absolutely blew my mind when i found mine in 2018, it felt like i had just discovered a brand new car from 1997.
Long and short of it is if you get the chance to own an Oldsmobile Achieva: do it, buy a second car that's faster you'll thank me later, keep the factory cassette (and optional CD) radio, get the SL model, and get to know it on its own terms not yours. It has plenty to share and to offer but it refuses to give its secrets to those who pressure it and are unappreciative.

ОтветитьIf unenthusiastic blow job would have a car...that's it.
ОтветитьI was in desperate in need for a car. My dad sold me his Achieva. Not my style but it ran. Turns out it was a pretty good car. Drove it till I was able to buy another car. But I'd have to say I was impressed with the Achiva.
ОтветитьI had a 1991 Chevrolet Lumina that was powered by the 3.1 liter and four speed automatic. What a great car it was, never gave me any problems. Always started in the winter and it sat outside. Had these narrow 195/75/14 tires that really worked in the winter. Just a frigging tank. Everything was so smooth on it Doors closed so nice gear selector just glided into gear. I have never had another car that felt so nice in every way. I sure miss it sometimes.
ОтветитьI had a 97 with the 2.4l twin cam and a 5 speed manual! According to the dealer, I had a rare build. Fantastic car while I had it. They don't build them like that anymore
ОтветитьDid it have a 3.1 6 or a 4 cyl?
