Guys, they said the only a minority of people wore their corsets tightly.
Not trying to say that u guys are wrong for saying things, but I just wanna tell u guys about what they meant.
Goodness me😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьThe ideal 'corset figure' of the Victorian period is today's BBL. 😅
ОтветитьThe video title says this is all about make-up, but make-up is only a very small part about this video. I’m dissapointed.
ОтветитьI don't wear any of that crap anymore. Corsets are Neolithic and who in their right mind would be cought wearing a corset these days ? Nobody.
ОтветитьToday's mainstream makeup contains toxins, as well as shampoos and conditioners, hand creams contain alcohol which dry out the skin. Hair dyes are extremely toxic, my mother got skin cancer on her scalp from Revlon hair dye. The F. D. A. Is slow and lax to change things. Lipstick has toxins as do liquid makeup and eye shadows, the list just goes on and on. And those toxic products are extremely expensive as well.
ОтветитьHow did we survive this long?….
ОтветитьWe’re not smarter in 21 century - butchering ourselves, paying millions for putting plastic to our breast’s, butts, hips, cheeks, lips
Ответитьmeanwhile Victoria herself was the most unattractive lump of uselessness to ever live.
ОтветитьOh please! not again this bullshit about corsets. There were only few freaks squeezing themselves too tight, normal women wore corsets for comfort and support, don't spread misinformation.
ОтветитьHigh Heels: Hello
ОтветитьCorsets are terribly absurd and oh, so dangerous for woman's body and health! Yuck!
ОтветитьWe call today's version of a corset SPANX.
ОтветитьAh yeah here we go again with corset myths
ОтветитьWhen the dr said a woman would be hyperventilating from wearing tight corsets , I think he was very serious. I don’t think he was joking and trying to get a laugh..
ОтветитьIt’s sad that this channel lies about corsets wearers. It’s like saying that bras are deadly too lol very sad…😢
Ответитьthe part about corsets is complete bullshit. It's a patriarchal myth.
ОтветитьI used to work at Amazon and I would work in a corset. It did wonders for my poster and muscles that were throbbing after the day. when I wasn't wearing the corset my back hurt, legs, and shoulders would hurt for days. I even got a sore something somewhere on my ribs. but on the days where I did wear the corset, my back aches were less, my shoulders would only hurt for 2 hours, and my legs, well they hurt no matter what. So I don't know what kind of corset she was wearing, but the one I wore didn't hinder my breathing or anything.
ОтветитьSomebody needs to do more research about corsets. That's the undergarments that existed then. It provided back support and bust support. And you let them put you tightlaced, even though you say you're not pretty sure you are how much reduction did you have? 3 inches?, in a corset that wasn't made for you?? No words. No words. Just wave your "I hate the patriarchy" club flag already if you don't want to talk about what the average woman wore rather than the extremes.
ОтветитьThey’re clearly just talking about wearing TIGHT CORSETS, and not just Corsets as a whole.
Holy shit people, damn.
And what has really changed? Makeup still has harmful content, women are still encouraged to wear clothing that is unhealthy for them and men as well to a much lesser extent.
ОтветитьSummary of whole video
one should not follow what society, celebrity, fashion/beauty industry dictates
always changing views & harming
I am not sure about corset but I don't like make-up. I love my natural face.
ОтветитьI love all the wannabe scientists and health experts here in the comments who can barely hold a job of their own yet are experts on victorian clothing . Gtfo
ОтветитьMy grandmother and great aunt told me about the world of course it's when I was very young. Fortunately I was mature enough that the information passed on to me had no ill effects. My grandmother had a 16 inch waist when she was corset in and that was when she was 18 to the age of 20. My great aunt worked with a type of corset she was 12 years old when she started work at a book bindery. When she came of age at 15 course had had to go on and she still had to carry stacks of books of several flights of stairs. She hated the darn thing much as most women seem to do and they did so quietly. Her waist when she was corseted was between 16 to 17 in. She informed that of course it was worn even when a woman was bloating from her menstrual cycle. I later find out found out what a menstrual cycle was and I figured it was no big deal. She became a seamstress and an extremely well paid one at that she managed an entire floor of women still in her late teens. She did tell me of one thing that no one could condemn her for she would sneakily take out the Bone stays that were used to give corset it's ridiculity and strength to hold the body in the desired shape. Doing way with the stays helped her breathing and her general well-being. My maternal grandmother, was heaven helper an actress along with her twin sister. This made them popular in stage plays that required quick changes or the appearance of twins in the plot. I was informed that they did not wear corsets and allowed their waste to be nearly 25. Both women believed in the beneficial effects of exercise and used throughout their lives gym equipment that they could have in the home. Through diet and exercise they were able to maintain their waste at the accepted diameter. Through the writings of the women in our family who lived out west courses and stays were generally thrown away for they had to do a lot more work than the certified or urbanized ladies from the East coast. The necessary work to run a farm was far too extreme and those who insisted on corsets found at their cost that they were unable to do any of the necessary jobs for women on the farm in that day and age.
ОтветитьInstead of lead, now you can use zinc. Bleaching skin today is a fad in the East.
ОтветитьThe woman has a job looking after a corset collection? Are you kidding me, that's a job? I'll volunteer for job like that. Can I go there and look after a collection of outdated socks or shoes?
ОтветитьMaybe by 2050 AIR FRYERS will be banned.. it literally transforms meat fats, sugars and carbs into cancerous chemicals...
ОтветитьThe intro sounds like something that could be applied to the 1950's
ОтветитьI swear to god if another person comments “the corset part is just incorrect” I’m going to go mad, they are looking at the more historic point of view when it came to the illustration of the corset
ОтветитьDr lipscomb you may feel good to have a smaller waist but you are an incredibly beautiful woman just the way you are.
ОтветитьBernadette Banner, Abby Cox, Karolina Zebrowska help
ОтветитьNobody:
People in the comments: I WEAR A CORSET AND-
actually screaming thank god for corsets not being normal now..
ОтветитьWomen were eating arsenic wafers to give themselves pale skin. Arsenic was used to make green wallpaper. Snuff snorting was considered fashionable. You would have had a lot of pale, toothless women, and men sneezing violently.
ОтветитьSomething tells me that it was the upper-class women who had to wear these, no the women who had to work.
ОтветитьI'm just thinking about women wearing corsets and i can't even handle a bra because "it's restrictive".
ОтветитьMy bitties are small enough I just wear a tank top lol
ОтветитьI’m trying to get through this video so bad but the way corsets are being framed is enraging me lol. Tight lacing was undoubtedly bad for you but regular corsets are perfectly healthy
Ответитьi think we are all beautiful by being ourselves who needs six pack abs , Small waists or big asses
ОтветитьJennie also wear corset and dance with it on
ОтветитьThe corset part is extremely inacurate if taking about day to day wear.
ОтветитьI was watching one of these episodes about poison and I thought it's interesting that Men naturally assumed , of course women would take to. Poisoning husband's because it was convenient
ОтветитьWell first of all the host is an elegant and beautiful woman I would never suggest she would need to do anything to improve she is statuesque quite a lovely lady
ОтветитьHow long did it take for people to start catching on that those corsets were killing them or how long did it take for wearing the corset to really do its thing
ОтветитьNot only corsets its the "waist trainers" we use today. they're the same thing!!!!
Ответить“Make sure every guest is considerably less attractive than the host.”
