it didnt worke for me when i selected my mic then i cold hear my self clear but when i selected the visual cabel then it didnt worke

Will this interfere with actually streaming through OBS? Might be a dumb question (or it was already answered) but I just wanna know if OBS will hear the mic input twice because you have monitoring on.

why doesn’t my discord hear my mic

it's not working for me :( when i change the output on the CABLE output there is no sound at all

My problem is that if I don’t put monitoring on in obs then my mic wouldn’t pick up

Ok so i downloaded the vb audio cable and when I put the monitoring device as the cable input i cant hear myself and i have the mic properties as monitor input and output

When i have the monitoring device set to default I can hear myself. But as soon as I select the vb audio cable I don't anymore.


What am I doing wrong?

So how do I stop hearing myself while I’m playing the game ? I don’t understand ? I loaded into Warzone and selected the VAC for microphone input but I can hear myself talking thru my headphones ?

The FX starting with REA are from REAPER :) they don't come with OBS

so i have been using this for couple days now but the only problem i have is when im in a call on discord there is a little bit of echo in my mic any way to fix this ?

Do you need obs to be constantly running or can you just do this once and close the app and the next time you boot it will work?

Using vb-audio cable added this weird, higher pitched static as my noise gate fades out the sound (it does fade out with the gate though). It's not the worst thing because at least the obs filters work, but how do you think I can get rid of that? I tried adjusting my filter settings, but it is always there before the gate kicks in when I stop talking. I can't shorten the gates release time or else it will cut my words off too harshly.

Thank you! My mic sounds way better now anyway. Had pretty bad low-pitched static noise without filters.

Discord says its picking up the mic when I test it I can here it but in call it doesn't work

Great tutorial! I got it working!
Only downside is that my SoundAlerts and Widget Sounds are playing on Discord and doesn't play on stream.
Is there a way to have SoundAlerts and Widgets play on stream and not on Discord?
If there is another or separate method, feel free to join in on this conversation

When I switch to the vbcable Im not getting any input playback, I made sure they're both at 48kHz and im not sure why its picking up

I tried this method with Discord. I had both my guitar, and mic coming through Discord using that audio cable, and was also streaming with someone; figured it'd be nicer if their stream also had my mic filters and could hear my guitar when they took breaks. When I heard back the audio, however, my mic quality sounded more diminished than normal without any filters at all on their stream, as well as my guitar. My theory is OBS isnt meant to be used as a standalone DAW, but idk. Any tips or advice anyone?
