looking at it from martial arts perspective, deadlift is the best exercise one can do for their lower back and lower back strength is extremely important in fighting as it involves lots of twisting movement

Yeah there isnt much of reward with deadlifts except getting stronger at it. Everything the deadlift does you can train better with less risk (barbell rows, rdl, hamstring curls etc.) Fyi i am sayong this as a guy who loves to deadlift.

Even i wanna do it daily... It's tempting...
.
But yup.... That feeling after you get off the weights.... No need to control it... Need to accept it first and maintain your pace

Deadlifts are extremely risky! My max deadlift was close to 800 lbs at my peak but no way would i even try that in my older age! I stopped deadlifting in my late 30's bcuz of back problems!

Disagree wirh you man. Deadlift improved my back strength along with persons i have trained who had back problems. Its benedits are too numerous to mention here .

Nothing wrong with deadlifting on a regular as long as your technique doesn't show up on OE Fitness. I prefer using the trap bar. Solid lift.

Tom platz opinions on any muscles besides legs is meaningless. He couldn’t develop anything else to a level similar to his legs so he became a bottom heavy sideshow.

I did deadlifts with my brother 6 months ago, he didnt tell me about bracing my core, i fucked my back up and its hurt ever since. Fuck deadlifts

I like light rdl, best results! Other than that ham curls and Nordic curls feel better for my hamstrings than deadlifts

This is taken out of context. He was talking specifically about SLDLs for hamstrings. Literally in the same conversation he talks about how he still did standard deadlifts for back development. Tom just felt that using deadlifts as a hamstring builder put too much strain on his back, and it felt unsafe; but he says they're a great back builder.

Weighted back extensions for me, the pad keeps your hips straight, sends blood into the targeted area better, and has much less margin for error.
