looking at it from martial arts perspective, deadlift is the best exercise one can do for their lower back and lower back strength is extremely important in fighting as it involves lots of twisting movement
ОтветитьI met Tom in 1984 when he guest posed at the Mr St Louis contest at the Fox Theatre. Super nice guy. I always hoped he'd eventually get a Sandow.
Ответитьit depends on your body which exercises suits u most. that's it do that
Ответитьsame thing with squats
ОтветитьI do dead lift to strengthen my lower back, not to develop my hams
ОтветитьThere is no reason to be alive if you can't do Deadlift .....
ОтветитьTell that to Rick Boogs!
ОтветитьNo. After MANY back problems.
ОтветитьTotal legend....
ОтветитьReal men do squats and dead lifts the same day 💪
ОтветитьI alternate with the deadlift bar...works great.
ОтветитьI wonder what Mr Squat Guy over here has to say about Ronni Coleman being on a wheelchair cos of squats
ОтветитьTom at restaurant:
Waitress: "what will you have sir?"
Tom: "you know, it's strange-I don't see squats anywhere on the menu..."
Yeah there isnt much of reward with deadlifts except getting stronger at it. Everything the deadlift does you can train better with less risk (barbell rows, rdl, hamstring curls etc.) Fyi i am sayong this as a guy who loves to deadlift.
ОтветитьI dont deadlift, below the knee rack pull. Leg curl is a terrible exercise for me
ОтветитьIt's the Idiots who can't control their weights and reps only fuck up ......
As long as you listen to your body... Not your brain out of ego.... You're safe....
.
Even i wanna do it daily... It's tempting...
.
But yup.... That feeling after you get off the weights.... No need to control it... Need to accept it first and maintain your pace
Deadlifts are great for athletic training
ОтветитьDeadlift when done right is king.
ОтветитьDeadlifts are extremely risky! My max deadlift was close to 800 lbs at my peak but no way would i even try that in my older age! I stopped deadlifting in my late 30's bcuz of back problems!
ОтветитьDisagree wirh you man. Deadlift improved my back strength along with persons i have trained who had back problems. Its benedits are too numerous to mention here .
ОтветитьIf deadlifting is giving you severe back pain….you were doing them wrong
ОтветитьSay no more
ОтветитьToo much risk when you're on too much gear and don't know what you're doing
ОтветитьNothing wrong with deadlifting on a regular as long as your technique doesn't show up on OE Fitness. I prefer using the trap bar. Solid lift.
ОтветитьTom platz opinions on any muscles besides legs is meaningless. He couldn’t develop anything else to a level similar to his legs so he became a bottom heavy sideshow.
ОтветитьIs no one talking about the intro??☠️
ОтветитьI did deadlifts with my brother 6 months ago, he didnt tell me about bracing my core, i fucked my back up and its hurt ever since. Fuck deadlifts
ОтветитьNope. I'm 53 & still dealing strong!
ОтветитьI rarely ever physically cringe during these videos, but this one got me 💀
ОтветитьI like light rdl, best results! Other than that ham curls and Nordic curls feel better for my hamstrings than deadlifts
ОтветитьWhy is lee priest calling me a wanker in the beginning lol💀💀
ОтветитьLee Priest cameo at the start
ОтветитьNo.
ОтветитьI'm 16 and I'm not gonna stop deadlifting because I just hit a new pr of 425 and I wanna get 500 by the end of the year lol
ОтветитьRoids are riskier 😂
ОтветитьI could say the same for the squat and bench press.
ОтветитьI don’t care
ОтветитьI do DLs three times a week. Favorite exercise After Squats. Absolutely love the strength you feel after three four sets of DL
ОтветитьI think he does not like powerlifting he is is just squatting and with that legs he has he scared of doing deadlift 😅
ОтветитьI will never stop
ОтветитьRonnie Coleman agrees
ОтветитьReally honest, always tells the shortest and the safest way to do everything.
ОтветитьTHERE IS NO REASON TO BE ALIVE IF YOU CAN NOT DO DEADLIFT
ОтветитьThis is taken out of context. He was talking specifically about SLDLs for hamstrings. Literally in the same conversation he talks about how he still did standard deadlifts for back development. Tom just felt that using deadlifts as a hamstring builder put too much strain on his back, and it felt unsafe; but he says they're a great back builder.
ОтветитьThat’s why Ronnie is crippled now
ОтветитьNot gonna stop deadlifting till I’m too old to do it😂
ОтветитьPicking shit off the ground and putting it back down.. totally useless
ОтветитьWeighted back extensions for me, the pad keeps your hips straight, sends blood into the targeted area better, and has much less margin for error.
ОтветитьProblem with dead lift is that its easy to slip into ego lifting with bad form
