Designing forms is hard! Specifically for signup / login, there is a lot of UX patterns you have to follow to make sure the form is as accessible as possible. Beyond that, though, the design decisions you make while working on ui design of the form really adds up. You have to constantly go back to your initial designs and update the system ad new elements, inputs, and data is added.
