I have a question. I'm an American citizen. In the 1960's I married a Japanese lady in Japan, and our marriage was registered in Japan. I also found out later that this information appears on my wife's family register in Yamagata ken where her family is from. Unfortunately my wife has since passed away in the U.S. after more than 50 years of marriage. Would the fact that my wife was originally a Japanese citizen when we got officially married in Japan allow me to apply for permanent residency in Japan, if that is what I wanted to do? some people says that forthe 4th generations the condition is to stay consecutives 10 years , so i got confused about that.

My grandfather is Japanese, he went to Brazil when he was child almost 3 years old, then my father wasn’t registered at the Japanese or Brazilian consulate, my father has been registered 16 years later his born in Brazil , so How I get the citizenship about family and not like other foreigners?

Japan doesn’t need more fake Japanese. It’s best for Japan to remain Japan so it doesn’t fall apart like the UK having someone that isn’t ethnically fully Japanese to run for PM. Multiculturalism and wokeism shouldn’t be expected in Japan. Japan should just allow their own citizens to acquire dual nationality without losing their Japanese nationality so that they don’t lose their existing citizens but be restrictive to allowing those without ancestral ties to Japan to become Japanese.

Hi, thanks a lot for the all informations you get to us. Very helpfull video. I have just a question. during the difficult coronavirus time, I coudn't continues my studies, (i have been attended just for a 1 year) but I could keep working in a combini until now. (but not as a full time).
Then, Because I couldn't come back in Italy, my visa status voice has been changed by " student visa" to "designated activities" and I could renwed it for almost 3 years. Now I am finally ready to attend the school again and I am thinking to attend at least 2 years. So my question is: do you think I would be able to qualify this requirement to get the naturalization? (of course counting as positives all the others requirements too)
