As a homeowner, I am puzzled why an engine is toast, if it has 120psi of compression, has spark, and turns over, but has heavy cylinder wall scoring? And what does the scoring indicate? and how to prevent it from forming in my power tools? thank you.

I’m thinking about going back to school and starting my own business. I do all the maintenance on my own mowers and there aren’t many places for small engine repair in my area. There’s one in my town and he’s already got more work than he can handle. Spring and summer he’s swamped with motorcycles and that seems to be his specialty. I’d be more interested in mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, and snowblowers.

Nice! First, I Love all your videos and I've learned a lot of skills..Here's my question.. I picked up an Echo weed eternity a 3 corner steel blade connected to it. The model is srm200da. I've been trying to get it running, fresh Cas with 2 stroke oil.. next I should be able to prime the carb but, here in lies my problem... I can't figure out where the primer bubble is.. Have you ever worked on one of these? The motor itself looks to be pretty small compared to others that I have worked on.. any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated? My next step is to search online to see if I can find anything about it..

Rookie question - what causes the cylinder to burn up on a 2-stroke? Not mixing the gas right? Anyone else feel free to chip in. Best maintenance practices to prevent burning up a motor?

Pro tip. I use water in ultra sonic cleaner. Then put parts in large paint cup with carb cleaner in it . Put cup in ultra sonic . Ultra sonic stays clean, part get clean. Use less carb cleaner and not having to clean ultra sonic for the win

You are highly disciplined, there is a donut shop right across the street and you get a salad. You will not be a Law enforcement officer.

Before I tune-up or repair a 2 cycle engne, the very first thing I do is remove the muffler to see if the piston & rings are burnt. Because it's so easy for someone to use gas with no oil in a 2 cycle engine, which will ruin it.

How do you/if you do) give garanty/warranty on used small machines?

Is the scoring on the pistons just customer negligence in most cases; like using straight gas instead of 2 cycle mix?

What material/ liquid do you use on your ultra sonic cleaner? I most time is water and dawn dish soap

I get guys/gals sometimes bring gear in off the course saying it stopped running and can’t get it running. My first check from experience is check the fuel and hand it back to them and say it’s not solar powered and let them figure it out . 😂Great job on the videos .

As a fellow technician the only thing that I would recommend to you is... that you don't wear a metal conductive wedding ring. Since you're working on Electronic /Mechanical Devices if you like your fingers
