2 things to concider: 1) work in an 8 bpc project (bottom project panel) 2) don't use the effect 'Fill' on the solid, just use a white solid (fill is a 32 bpc effect and shatter a 8 bpc) that's the way it worked for me.

If i use the Gradient Layer 1.Mask the shatter effect don t work. I can't shatter part of an image, only the whole image. What is the problem?
