Should you play Honkai Impact 3rd after Honkai: Star Rail?

I can't believe mihoyo can afford to have like 5 games running at the same time each with 1.5 month major updates.

nah... main story mc is yuri, I'm fine if it's a side character being yuri, but mc? nope
I'll stick to star rail even if it's just a spin off to hi3rd

Ok so I got scara c6 after 3 years of playing gunshin and enjoying it now I don't really and the story is sooo slow, tried honkai rail today played for hours and nope it doesn't come close to how great gunshin is depleted after not liking any of the characters enough to keep wasting my time (ok but blade )but honestly I didn't like the story or the world building/exploration much, downloading honkai impact rn and I hope it more than "waifus" and skins as it's stated in this video that I watched to give me hope but nm

I've only been playing HI3 for two years. The story and characters are amazing. Definitely my favourite of Mihoyo's current offerings. Will ZZZ unseat it? We'll have to wait and see.

i got genshin hsr and hi3 and my storage is still living 💪💪💪💪

I tried the game out multiple times but bounced off every time. The gameplay is clunky, early story is mid af, there's too many menus and they feel cluttered, gacha was awkward. Overall I couldnt shake off the feeling of cheapness in the game.

as a honkai impact player, i got to admit that the game is not really f2p friendly. You can buy shards for low rank characters, you can farm ranks, you can craft weapons and you probably wont suffer much getting weapons, but the meta carries in the game and also the dpss, are not free to play, i have been playing for 3 years and I only managed to get a very few. It takes forever to collect wishes and the pity isnt that good. So if you want to play honkai for the summons u probably will be wasting your time and get bored soon, the story is somewhat good and actually you dont really need meta characters to have fun as they are many others that are unique and fun to play. The game gives a number of free characters that are meta.

Is it worth starting honkai impact as a new player?

Ah yes, a famous Lesbian impact, if anyone wonders, the story is worse than trash, it’s just a full campus of lesbians with random number of psychological disorders without any backstory or development. The gacha is even worse, to build a character, you need to pull her from gacha, then pull a weapon and set of artefacts, because if you won’t - no damage for you, go fuck yourself. Gameplay is also trash, can’t see shit, or even understand what to do. Genshin and HSR are much better

Don't sleep on Honkai Impact 3rd. It has some of the most well written characters in all of gaming.

I love Honkai Impact 3rd, it's one of my fav games all time, and I trully believe it's better than genshin in any aspect. Hi3 just about quality and love, a lot of games need this.

If you like star rail you'd likely enjoy HI3 but if you play genshin for mostly the gameplay aspect and open world exploration and teyvat's world than no. HI3 feels like a waste of time, same thing with HSR though although beginning of HSR is pretty good. It turns into way to much of a gacha game after few hours though.

If you really wanna sell the costumes, take time runner, HoHE's latest lunar festival one, and the upcoming herrscher trio's summer ones

Tried it, but the lack of English voices pretty much killed my interest. I'll just stick with Star Rail.

Been playing HI3 since 2018 and I hope more and more people get to play it and enjoy the story

tbh I dont like how this video is 99% just an ad for Honkai Impact 3rd and not actually providing much helpful information about the game such as its game mechanics etc

As sadly only a 2.5 years player I will still highly recommend it (I've made it to ch 25, lvl 80+ of content). I've still been with the story upto sealing honkai energy on the moon chapter, and my gosh the story is something you'd play the game for even if you don't like the gameplay. Storytelling style has developed nicely too. Visuals beyond the models like during fights are so expressive and fleshed out. HI3rd is pretty technical like with the buffs and debuffs and sequences. So I'll say even if you don't like one aspect of the game, you'll probably like other aspects more than what you hate about the game.

Unless you like being sad and depressed, don't play HI3.

No, hi3 is too p2w and awfull cus the only good charactrrs arent even playable thanks to losers without lack of femenine affection getting angry when su or kevin or otto are way better than what kiana will never be

Yes, you should play it. Just keep in mind that Honkai is a visual novel disguised as game, we still have countless of nice combat events and a nice end game, whoever the game is purely focused on story (even events has some good amount of text to read lol), so take your time to read it.
Just don't bring your toxicity bs into the game. The majority of the players are very nice to each other, including to voice actors and the dev team, so if you can't do the bare minimum of being a decent person this might not be for you.

Ive played HI3 for around 2 years+ and i must say i really really REALLY miss playing it, but i dont think i have space to download it. The best thing about HI3 is the story, characters, events, and outfits! However, the worst thing about HI3 *imo*, is how fast the meta shifts in the game, and if you try to go for meta as a f2p, i must say just give up lol. Im a low spender myself but even that made me struggle to play comfortably in meta content. the fast meta shifts makes the game super grindy and that what makes me stopped playing honestly, where i thought i just need to take a break but end up stopped for a quite a long time.. As i said, i love the game so much, i would actually play it again just for the stories, and characters. Seeing familiar characters in HSR made me happy but honestly, i still need to see my two fav characters, Kiana and Fuhua.

Used to play this, but quit due to excessive powercreep and excessive post-release character censorship. They started off as a fanservice game and decided to tone down and censor their fanservice in favor of story, I guess, but the worst thing about it is probably the ranked weekly dungeons, which requires you to whale and/or play for several years to get anything remotely decent in rewards and rankings due to whale leaderboards.

Star Rail and Genshin came pre-censored for the most part (with the exception of a few "optional" Monstadt outfits), but Honkai with its "in your face" fanservice decided to censor some characters, presumably to sell the more revealing premium outfits (after all, who would buy the premium outfit when the base outfit is sexier? So let's make it less sexy!)

Could also be discrimination against the smaller characters, since the smaller characters get hit the hardest by censorship. Either way, when you're essentially required to get not only the latest SSR character, but that character's signature weapon and signature stigmata set, just to keep up with the power creep and maintain the same low leaderboard ranking you had last week, it's not very playable for FTP. Also, if you like to play as a self-insert male protagonist like Aether or Caelus, you'll find that outside of limited FOMO events which you already missed, the self-insert male of HI3 is completely ignored by the waifus and has zero story significance whatsoever.... it has a bit of an identity crisis, can't decide if it wants to be a waifu game or a yuri game, though it leans heavily in the "ambiguously but not blatantly yuri" direction most of the time. Apparently, there was a yuri kiss scene that got censored before I ever started playing, so it has a long history of censorship, which isn't the best thing for a fanservice game.

Also, there was a global-exclusive fanservice event that got cancelled because the Chinese players (who get a ton of China-exclusive events) cried about it, and (MiHoYo at the time) only cared about the Chinese complaints, giving them a bunch more compensation rewards than they gave the global players for an event that wasn't even theirs.

A FTP who starts HI3 tomorrow will never, ever be competitive in the weekly ranked dungeon endgame content. Honkai 3rd is the reason why Genshin said no to more Spiral Abyss endgame content.

Yeah as a player for a couple of years I would like to warn potential players about the absolutely fast paced powercreep in this game where a f2p could spend months to fully gear a character only for them to be powercrept by then, also the large power gap between f2p gears and signature gears for most characters and be warned about the fact that dps characters always want their signature weapons to even be viable in the current high lvl meta. And don’t forget pvp exists here where you may find yourself fighting for a higher rank every few days so meta is VERY important.

But if you simply want a good story and collect waifus then dump everything I said into the trash and enjoy the game as you will :)

I personally just could not get invested into the game since it was too fanservicey for my taste. I actually like how Star Rail and Genshin are far tamer in comparison to Honkai 3rd.
