I am packing for my cruise as we speak. Going on Oceania from Bangkok to Tokyo for 18 days. We fly out Monday morning.

I be on Royal Caribbean Wonder of the seas Saturday 1/7/23
On a 8 night eastern Caribbean cruise
I have checked with my cell phone company I found out I have international call on my phone plan I already have unlimited call and data and text through Verizon
I upgrade my phone service years ago when I kept going over my allow minutes for the month and data because I'm a over the road truck driver I have to stay in touch with my company and my family
Before I upgrade the bill was over $800 a month after upgrade just over $80 a month
I just got a newer phone I got on 1/3/23
same brand name as my old phone
The new phone bigger and the data way faster
The picture quality way better
I also bought a small camcorder just a little bigger than my hand
And I have a fanny pack that I be wearing also
I be with my dad and stepmom be heading to Deltona, FL in the morning to visit with my stepmom's sister and the morning of
1/7/23 be heading to a parking lot that's 3 miles from
Port Canaveral i have already paid to park here and there will be a shuttle there to take us to the port
We be a little early the shuttle only runs between 10am to 1pm and are check in time at the port is 2pm to 2:30pm on 1/7/23

We finished a cruise about 2 weeks ago, the air tags saved our luggage, took off and landed in Denver, was supposed to connect with Canada air, but beginning flight was late getting there, so luggage was taken over to another terminal for air canada which had already left, I was able to tell them where our bags were, we were on our new flight to Vancouver, door shut and were notified that at last min our luggage made it on plane. We had a 16 day cruise and 5 day land vacation, would not have been good if our luggage didn’t make it. We packed for two different environments Alaska and Hawaii !!!

Regarding Rx medications: Pack extra doses above and beyond the number of days you anticipate being gone. We were snowed in once, and I ran out of blood pressure medicine. It was a problem, finding a doctor on a Saturday that would write for extras.

If it's just my husband and I cruising do we really need a power bar? Are there not enough outlets for two people who only have a cell phone each?

I discovered your videos after booking our very first cruise (4 night bahams cruise on Royal Caribbean in Feb 2023) and started looking for tips. Really enjoy them and have been working my way back through them. You have lots of packing tips for women but how about for something for guts please...?

I don't know if anyone else would want to do this for luggage tags for cruises: instead of buying the plastic holders (different sizes depending on which cruiseline) - I just put clear packing tape over the identification/room info area and staple the sheet of paper as instructed. The clear packing tape would make the tags semi waterproof and also stronger than just paper stapled. I started doing this when I saw Emma's (Emma Cruises) luggage tags got wet from the rain.

I started doing laundry before a vacation so it's not quite so overwhelming to have "home" clothes and vacation clothes to wash. Also, since we travel in winter, we turn down our thermostat and open the cupboard doors below our sinks so the pipes don't freeze.

I am very particular about my shampoo and conditioner, so I take my own. That leaves the conditioner that the cruise ship places in the bathrooms free. Conditioner works great as a shaving cream and I use that as my shaving aid, therefore alleviating the need to bring shaving cream for myself. A small space saver, but a saver just the same.

The luggage tags have saved a lot of time.

If you are on a medication that is a controlled substance like clonazepam, muscle relaxer or tramadol, do you need to put it in the actual bottle? I have chronic pain and we be going on a cruise in December.

On my 11 night cruise I ran up a $500 phone bill by using Cellular at Sea. I didn’t realize how expensive it was per minute.

My digital luggage scale kept getting activated inside my bag. I now pack it in a hard-sided eyeglass case.

Looking forward to my cruise in Jan 2023. We flew to Fla in June 2022. I made 6 small bags of snack candy bars, lip balm and a $5 Starbucks gift card for the aircraft flight crew. I could not get over how grateful they were. Every crew member came to our seats to personally thank us. The pilot also thanked us over the intercom. A little kindness goes a long way.

Painkillers just incase. You never know. (once walked miles for some along a highway?!?!?) Female products if your within the age range. You never know. The Ring doorbell app on your phone, we spoke on several occasions to grandchildren when they went to our house. Scared them to death as they approached the front door, it just alerted us as we got into port. So funny. But you can check on your vehicle's on the drive etc.

For any trip I find packing my makeup 3-4 days in advance then get ready out of it for 3+ days really helps to not forget something or discover maybe you have too much and can remove something.

This is not essential, but I always bring my own pillow from home. I just sleep better! My pillow is always on my last minute list.

My travel agent had gifted us 2 specialty dining meals but Royal Caribbean did not have a record of it. Fortunately, I had printed the gift receipt for it and was able to show them. Worked out because I did have the printed confirmation!

Whether it's a cruise or land trip, I have a toiletry and electronics kit ready to go. All I have to do once in a while is update it. This way both can go on the pile before the day of traveling.

I packed a word search book in my carry on to reserve my phone battery. I was glad to have a break from the screen

Hi San Diego cruiser here. When we come back from the cruise I always have my carry-on bag full of necessities and as soon as we get home I try to replenish it after I have cleaned out the old stuff and wiped it down. That way it is always ready to go the next time.. I do not want to have to remember what I put in there and what I didn’t put in there when it’s time to get on board.🎃.. I always check the expiration dates dates which is another thing because I only cruise six months apart so sometimes things are out of date but pretty much it works for me so far in the last few years of gone back to cruising. Always replenish your bag when you get home. we also have purchased duplicate electronic cords for our electronics. That way we do not have to take them out of our carry-ons when we get home .. and we’re ready to leave again. This is very important for us also we carry an extra little plug to add extra outlets to the one on the ship. Those are also carried as duplicate extras in our carry-on. 😅 Elana ❤ something that I always do also is take a cheap Timex watch that I’ve had for years and carry it with me anytime I am off the ship just in case my cell phone dies or I do not have access to the ships time with me. no way will you ever see me as a pier runner. Lol 2 watches One with the actual time and one with ship time. Every country you visit might be on a different time than the ship. I learned this from a season traveler years ago. So I am passing it on to people now that I am a seasoned traveler also😂

How about a video that tells things you must do before you leave the house (applicable to any vacation)? Notify police, notify neighbors, notify alarm company, leave a key with a trustworthy friend or family member, if pets are not boarded (and you are having a sitter come in to care for them) check on their well being before you leave (one of our cats slipped into the back room of our basement and we had shut the door!!!!!), count the suitcases that you put into the car to make sure that nothing is left in the house (this has happened to us TWICE!), shut all blinds, set timers for lights, make sure all appliances are turned off and appropriate ones are unplugged, make sure garage door is closed, double check to make sure you have all passports, boarding documents, etc., make sure that heat/AC is set to appropriate temperature or turned off...I'm sure you could think of more!

Taking photos is a great idea. Luggage, documents, etc. I also have a photo of my different prescriptions. That way, should they be misplaced, I can get them filled. Or at least an 'emergency amount' to see me through a trip.

I have two different make-up/lotion/hair product bags - one for travel (it's kept with my suitcase, and I just refresh what I need) and one for home. Some other items I may need for travel -always get two!

Question: could you do a video about accessibility on cruises. I have a bad ankle and decided on the last cruise that I would have to look at a scooter for the next vacation. We averaged 7.5 km /day. I saw people on board with scooters but would like to hear more about the logistics

in 2016 i forgot my phone charger, I had to pay $30 for one on the ship. Now I tuck extra of everything in my hearing aid container so I never forget. Make up when I am half low I buy another so I have my make up for travel and makeup for home

These two items saved us 3k and helped one of the 5 entities who handled the luggage find it. It was easy to send the iTag info to the Port in Seattle. Yes. The luggage was tagged with additional details inside. Still, it was the AirTag that saved us. It took 3!weeks.
