I'm an OAP so not a speed merchant. I do 4K miles per year and at 20k miles on my Kia Cee'd I had 4 new Continental tyres.
At 30k on the clock I had to replace the two front tyres. This is rubbish.

I can attest to the rain performance of the extreme contacts, esp wet braking. I was going about 45mph when a van cut me off while another cut the van off all from a line, all at once. Left me about half a car, foot was hovering over the brakes, as I do that when I pass a line going the speed limit :) car: IS350

Wow Amazing content. On rolling resistance, is the extra cost if I went for the Primacy enough to cover the difference if I chose Falken over the life of the tires. How significant are the savings in costs for a petrol saloon

For 2024’s summer tire testing, I’m wondering if you can put the best summer comfort tires up against each other. For continental, they have the UltraContact and ComfortContact which are more comfort biased than sport biased. The PremiumContact 7 won in your tests for both summer touring as well as UHP, so I think it would be a good idea to have a section dedicated to comfort touring where the performance tires are not in the running. Thanks for all your hard work!

Imo tires should be part of safety testing. The gulf between tire products being so wide in the price range for normal commuter cars is unacceptable. The tire that failed the braking by 14 meters should be sold to no one and the company making such a poor product should not be in business. Other companies make cheap products that are worth buying, not that one.

Just fitted a set of four Pirelli P7 Cints run flats to my BMW 4 series Grand Coupe on 255/50/17's. They have transformed the ride, handling and noise level. It previosly had Dunlop Sports on the rear and two odd cheap tyres fitted by the previous owner on the front. You only get what you pay for.

Hi there
I'd like some suggestions. I drive a crossland x diesel (195/60/16 89H) ,and I run at least about 60khm a day and totally about 20.000khm a year . I also drive in highways a lot. The car is wearing the Bridgestone T001. I want to give a try to a different manufacturer and I'm between the Falken Ziex ZE310 Ecorun and the Hankook ventus prime 4 . And what about the Kleber Dynaxer HP4?
I really want to hear your suggestion for these ones or something else.
Thanks in advance
Con from Greece

well, I'd rather have a bit less grippy tire than a noisy one.
Would not give Continental the win since noise is something you have to deal with every day.

Which summer tyres would you recommend for the car Audi A3 2014 1.8 tfsi 180 HP SB Quattro automatic in size 225/45/17? I drive Nordic roads in moderate condition and more than half of the time on highways 100-140 km/h. I value comfort, but when necessary, the car's performance. Goodyer EfficientGrip Performance 2 might be my pick. I have checked your very informative reviews and wondered when it is time to pick performance tyres instead of touring tyres? If I would drive hard roads in good condition most of the time, should performance tyre will be good option in to my car?

Seriously yet again no DUNLOP, do you have something against one of the biggest tyre manufacturers in the world. There’s a lot of loyal Dunlop owners who appreciate the road handling so a missed opportunity to do a comparison

It's really surprising that the overall understeer/oversteer balance changes with different tyres. I'm guessing it's due to load sensitivity with some tyres benefiting more than others from being on the heavier end of the car?

I have been using Uniroyal Rainsport 3 & 5's for the past few years. They are ' A ' rated for wet weather. They have great grip and handling in rain and seemed not bad in the wet slushy snow. I tried a set of Hancock Ventus again ' A ' rated they were no where as good as the Uniroyal in the rain

I just replaced my bmw x3 RFTs with Continental Extreme Contact DSW 06 Plus. The ride is amazing, as I expected. Every new vehicle I’ve purchased over the past 15 years, I drove to Discount Tire the next day and put Continentals on it. Cannot match the ride as well as amazing handling. I’ve even taken off new Michelins and still got a better ride.

I think your reviews are great and whilst I can afford to buy expensive tyres there are many families out there at the moment who are really struggling. So they do not have much choice when it comes to buying tyres for their car. How about doing a really worthwhile test on budget tyres for families who just drive at normal speeds in all weathers, this would be doing a great service for thousands of families. Just a thought!

Thanks for the video! I have a question: what is the absolute thinest tire (for a light car) that has good grip? How thin is too thin? I have a project that works with ground effect; and every inch that can be gained by thinner wheels and tires is desired. Or, would I loose more then I gain?
