To work on high level projects while ignoring the complications of the memory management, like Neural Networks, learn Python, there are other options as well.

As always languange does not matter. I say learn Algorithms, Object Orientation, Data Structurs. After that decided what type of work you want to do, look up Job descriptions, build a project that caters to that job, apply for that job. If you want to create a cool project on your own then the answer us whataver you think will make your life easier. If you choose web, focus on frame works.

It's not fast in exection, so you'll most likely require Cython/C to increase performance anyway.
