Truth! ????
ОтветитьI bought one of these almost a year ago and it comes with super easy nas set up. I plugged in an external USB and turned it on in settings. boom every device can access it, even my phone using ES file explorer.
ОтветитьAbout friggin time Linksys. I can finally retire my WRT54g from 2002
ОтветитьIt looks promising, but the whole cooling fan thing for some people at least, will signify a decreased lifespan, I'm still rocking my fanless wrt54GL in my living room for my blu-ray player. For me I could just probably change the fan on the new one when it dies but I'd be afraid to burn the cpu, hopefully it comes with an automatic shut-off when it overheats.
ОтветитьI remember using my Linksys WRT54GS. It never failed me once. However, it has been long gone since I upgraded the router, but every new router I got, I ran into problems.
ОтветитьThis video brought to me by my WRT54G router
ОтветитьGreat. So now every manufacturer has finally figured out that antennas are good.
Linus. You are smart and FUNNY! hahaha!
ОтветитьI could definitely use the wireless speeds.
ОтветитьI'm still using my Linksys WRT54GS (I believe). lmao. Why? Because it never, ever fails. It has been running non stop since it was new and has never had to be reset once, and has never dropped a connection. I read the user reviews from "modern" products and well, I end up never buying one. Thats ok though because download speeds on my ethernet connected PCs are only 1 to 3 Megabits faster (21ish vs 24ish)
ОтветитьLinusTechTips I'd be way interested in your coverage of AC wifi in general and across other devices; those of us in Kansas City are trying to catch up with our Fiber speeds.
ОтветитьDO WANT !
ОтветитьOr you could build a pfsense router
ОтветитьTomato ... Tomatoes
Ответитьwonder how much a WRT54G is on ebay?
$200 haahahaha
arent all routers wireless? xD
ОтветитьLinus Y U NO use metric units?
ОтветитьI had a friend who had a massive power surge come through his house and he lost three computers, a cable modem, a refrigerator, two TV's, and a PS3, but his trusty WRT54G was juuuust fine. :)
ОтветитьHeavy overpriced pos!
ОтветитьI hate wireless.
ОтветитьI will definitely be buying one
Ответить300$ is super expensive ... my Mikrotik is awesome for 70-80 bucks ...
ОтветитьHell, my router is still Wireless G and it's overkill for my internet tbh. I get 3mb/s down :/ Comcast ftw
ОтветитьConsidering the resent NSA backdoors into Linksys and netgear routers firmware, I was planning to go with a Buffalo with pre-installed DD-WRT... but if this allows 3rd party software easily, then Linksys are back in the game!
Although if they REALLY wanted to blow ppl away, they would have had 10gbE ports on this thing
I use wireless G. Call the cops; I don't give a fuck.
ОтветитьI think that keep opening is a great mareting move, we see this on android market for example, systems with opensource drivers tend to sell more (to the ones looking for rootable mobiles) than system without them (since it's not as easy to go 100% stability CYM
ОтветитьI still use a WRT-54GL as a WiFi bridge it runs just fine with DD-WRT installed, This looks like a good upgrade but it will all depend on the price if its worth the upgrade.
Ответитьone of those old ones linus mentioned i actually still have one dont use it but its in a box in my garage with my first evr laptop from dell and my first ever desktop also from dell lol i must dig it out and see which one it is!
ОтветитьI'm still using a wrt54gs.
ОтветитьThat was funny
Linksys fan forever!!!!!!!
ОтветитьCan't wait to see an unboxing of this once it's available!
Ответитьo.e holee sheet
ОтветитьA router for 300 bucks is retarded.
ОтветитьWow, this is nice.
ОтветитьLinksys is now owned by Belkin
ОтветитьI still run my wrt54g and it never bug! Love it. Maybe this one is my next one!
ОтветитьThis comment was posted via a WRT54G.
ОтветитьOur home is still using a wrt54g........
ОтветитьMy mom still used one of the old ones until just a couple weeks ago.
ОтветитьAnyone know what chipset it will be using
ОтветитьI had a WRT54G that lasted for nearly a decade. It recently died, and I'm actually planning on framing that beast.
Best $80 I've ever spent.
and setting $300 aside......
ОтветитьLove my WRT54GL but now it's only running as wireless bridge for my VoIP gateway using DDWRT.
ОтветитьLinksys vs ASUS AC router review later please.
