Wich is better?
ОтветитьIs there any difference in weight...meaning I'm told doing 300lbs on the compact sled would be equivalent to like 600lbs on a press machine? Is there any truth to that? Thanks
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure you got the updated compact leg sled so with that in mind which would you recommend, i need to make sure and protect my lower back
ОтветитьIs comparable the legsled with the hacksquat?thanks so much
ОтветитьYou mentioned the compact sled was great for quads, but can you also target your glutes by adjusting your foot placement? Similar to a high stance on a traditional LP? Also, would both machines allow for full range of motion for someone who is only 5’2”? Thank you! I appreciate your reviews!
ОтветитьDo you know what year that the new leg press was released?
ОтветитьWhich machine is better on the knees? The leg press, or the leg sled?
ОтветитьVery good.
Ответить28 degrees? When you have 100 pounds on it how much are you actually lifting?
ОтветитьI just tried the compound leg press at the fitness store and it was smooth as butter. I didn't add any weight to see if it does that lean when putting on plates but I'll go back and try it and see. Thanks for the review it really helps.
ОтветитьI had that same grinding sound then i looked at the spring installation and realized it was not installed properly, made an adjustment and no more grinding. The hook no longer touches the frame.
ОтветитьI just received the Body Solid version of the Compact Leg Sled and it is a impressive piece of equipment and it has none of the spring issues, runs on linear bearings, has a higher weight capacity, and the foot brace is designed to do calf raises (also does not move). There were no reviews on it but I decided to take a chance and I am glad. MSRP is higher but you can get them for the same price as the Powertec. BTW, I am a big Powertec fan as I have the Multipress and Dual Hyperextension / Crunch.
ОтветитьWhy can’t they make a compact leg press? Smh
ОтветитьI have the sled.. thanks for showing you can use some mats for the calf press..
ОтветитьVery helpful! Clear and insightful.
ОтветитьHey I just found your video comparing these as I was going to buy one of em. Is the compact sled more like a hack squat?
Ответитьbof, matos tout branlants. Merci pour les démos.
ОтветитьPlease get a microphne
ОтветитьObviously not a scenario that affects you, but which do you think would be more accommodating for someone looking to do full range of motion with a big belly?! The sled looks like it might be slightly better in that respect, but keen to get your thoughts!
ОтветитьGreat video! I keep looking at leg presses, but can't decide on one I really like. I'm not sure the compact ones would offer enough true resistance after doing the math. Most of them are 30 degrees and around 700 lbs. capacity = sine (30 degrees) X 700 = 350 lbs. max resistance on the muscles while regular leg presses are 45 degrees and 1000 lbs. capacity so sine (45 degrees) X 1000 = 707 lbs. I think the compact leg press will feel slightly harder up until a point because you are also lifting your own bodyweight. I'm weary of buying another Powertec piece after all the quality control issues I've had with the equipment I've bought from them. I'd say they've been slightly worse on quality control than Titan. The Powertec foot plate on the regular leg press looks so much better than most home gym leg presses though.
ОтветитьBottom loading leg press is a deal breaker
ОтветитьAwesome review. I'm just getting started on a home gym. I was about to purchase the leg sled until I saw your review of the rogue rhino. If you were in my situation and your experience with both. Which would you purchase?
ОтветитьI bought the Powertec 45° leg press and finished building it, it's no lie when it's mentioned as the most space efficient leg press...one quick question, for the pivoting adjustment tube portion behind the back pad at the bottom of the tube is that supposed to be just slightly tightened (a little loose) so it has some give moving back and forth, or is it supposed to be fully tightened? Thanks.
ОтветитьI'm close to purchasing the leg press, which source has the best instructions?
Just to avoid any frustrations during the assembly process. Thanks.
Finally got tired of setting up and moving my PT leg press attachment and bought the PT leg press, almost got the BS leg press/hack squat again but couldn’t face building it, so I figured I get this given your review, building it was easy enough on my own and didn’t take long, it’s smooth in use and feels better than the BS version I had, one thing that caught me out was the plates loaded on the bottom pins extend beyond the rear frame when pressing, so I had to move it away from the wall I had it against, I really like the size of the foot plate.
ОтветитьYou mentioned the Body Solid sled in thus review. What did you not like about it? Just saw an add and looking to make a purchase. Thanks for the review ✌️
ОтветитьVery helpful in the process of adding a leg press to my home gym sometime soon. Does the leg press work well doing unilateral single leg presses on it?
Looks awesome and space efficient compared to other leg press machines on the market, also like that you could do calf raises on it as well.
Great comparison video! Just a quick question. Which is easier on the ankles? I've used both in the past at my local gym before some ankle injuries and was just curious if you had a recommendation of one over the other with this in mind. Thanks in advance!
ОтветитьHow long will these rollers last?
Ответитьthere are two positions on the calf raise for the sled. I like the lowest level, not the higher level.
ОтветитьExcellent review, I dig the leg press. I've always found the best results with them vs the sled personally. After watching the video, I think I made my final choice.
ОтветитьOf course its subjective. But overall, it appears the Leg Sled is a POS in comparison....
ОтветитьHi Hacky, is the legpress model Powertec P-LP 19?
ОтветитьHi Hacky! How do i know that i buy the newest model? In the Netherlands the model that are the newest are called the Powertec P-LP19.
ОтветитьWhen Lee priest says he'd take a compact hack leg sled over a 45 degree leg press any day. Shows something.
ОтветитьOn the sled do you have to consider your body weight when you are figuring out how much weight you are using?
ОтветитьCan u overload 1 side without pinching the slider?
Ответитьvery nice and informative review! Btw, what is u max weight u have used the leg press? Would it be safe to use about 300 kg (about 600lbs) with this leg press? I am very concerded about it's safty. Thank you
ОтветитьHi , was wondering is the compact leg sled 45 degree angle ?
ОтветитьThis PT seems to provide a little more ROM than Force USA or pro tech. Curious if the metal on metal can be fixed but bending them away from each other? Can’t find your other video about this but prob a deal breaker for me sadly.
ОтветитьHow do you lubricate and clean the powertec leg press guide rod and roller wheels? What do you use?
ОтветитьHave you ever tried the powertec leg press accessory?
ОтветитьHave you found a way to rig a large band to both sides of the compact
ОтветитьI wonder if Powertec could make the calf block more like the letter “L” than a “T” that way the block would extend further down towards the bottom instead of just up and out sideways. Not sure if I’m explaining it correctly. If you rotated the current calf block 90 degrees then the top of the “T” would be pointing to the bottom. The top too but ignore that lol I’m saying just make a calf block that will sit lower on the deck. :)
ОтветитьVery useful 👏🏻
ОтветитьNice review! Exactly what I need to know. The force USA compact leg press looks a bit better compared to the compact power tech. Did you try the force USA version?
ОтветитьSince i dont do videos but you do..I’ve figured out how(sure you have too)but anyways on the leg press attachment i use it also for a glute kickback..use the bench(inclined)as brace when kicking back..you may already have a video I haven’t watched just yet..i just recently found your stuff..i really didn’t look at your dates of videos..if you still do them even..but thanks for sharing your ideas..
Ответитьi have the older model leg press and love it, i bought it back in 2013 and paid 800 for it, still going strong today and i press with 6-45 lbs plate on the top tier with 6-45 lbs plates on the bottom tier, total of 12 plates. i don’t go past that, i’ll drop it down to 4 plates in total to get a deeper full range of motion and slower concentration rep. i also have the older model multigym and still going strong. only reason that i was sold on this equipment was because of Lee Priest. If you know who Lee Priest is take his word for it as I did, best investment.
ОтветитьExcellent review my friend. This comparison is exactly what I was looking for. I’ll be purchasing the compact sled when it becomes available.
