is it normal for ground loop noise to be present when also recording a bass guitar with an active eq into a usb interface? (ssl2+) i have the idle pc ground loop noise, and its also there when i track bass specifically. would the ifi fix that?
Ответитьgreat video thanks
ОтветитьI'm actually getting noise and crackling from my studio monitors but it only happen when DI Guitars go Into a plugin and it's hi gain. It's so loud and I can't record any high gain guitars
ОтветитьFor me i just turned off microphone from sounds
ОтветитьI have a problem with the volume buttons, when I turn it up or down it loses strength and it produces noise distortion and the power remains unstable... and is that normal when I listen to anything? off and I decide to meter music I just have a monitor that works at full capacity and after 10 or 15 min the other monitor starts at full capacity
ОтветитьThank u!!!!!
ОтветитьSwitching to an alternative usb power source for my speakers solved my issue. Thank you
ОтветитьThis is a great video, running into a weird issue where only my right monitor has computer noise. I've switched cables, power outlets, and even fully switched out to a different set of monitors and running into the same issue. iDefender seems like my best bet, but was curious if you had any insight before I pulled the trigger?
ОтветитьI’ve been dealing with this for YEARS but I just didn’t know what to search for. I wish I found your video sooner.
ОтветитьThanks for the advice. I knew the hum was from my Scarlett Solo (it works fine with my other laptop with the same monitors) but didn't know how to go about the problem. Hopefully the iFI iDefender will solve the issue. Thanks!
ОтветитьChanging the port to other USB-C on my mac solved the problem, i had a USB-C hub with all my conections including a Focusrite. Thanks a lot!
Ответитьif the noise is like a waterfall can ifi defender solve the problem?
Ответитьfixed all the noise on my studio speakers by using x2 TRS 1/4 jacks straight into the audio interface. Thanks!
ОтветитьMy PC generates noise when it's off. When on the noose is gone. I don't know what to do. I use speakers power by amps that have no Stand-by
Ответитьthis worked for me ! thank you
ОтветитьBUZZ GONE!! Plugged both speakers into the same power strip and Voila…BUZZ GONE!! Thanks!
ОтветитьThe computer's power supply might be on its way out with worn capacitors like you shown and can cause big problems later on. I changed the power supply, and the noise was significantly reduced and changed in character.
I also got the most unholy radio interference attempting to use a SATA disk outside of the computer case. I would transmit the video card's pulses and was not good if an OpenGL window was opened. It's a miracle that the electronics inside the computer work, and I don't know how it is shielded if some front panels in CD bays are missing, but it seems to be ok.
The old standard was to put the sound card in the bottom most slot away from the video card.
If your audio interface has a power option separate from USB data, I HIGHLY recommend you use it. I eliminated so much buzz just by swapping to the alternate power plug and use USB only for data.
ОтветитьThanks so much! Dimmers was my issue. My right monitors started the same exact sound you have on that part of the vid. And just followed your instructions.
ОтветитьI get the 50/60 hz ground loop noise, what should I do about it ??!!
ОтветитьThis has been going on the my Apple Studio Display. It seems it the ASD itself, and having poor shielding. Whenever I do anything on the Mac, data related, like load a web page, there is a static sound in my JBL 305 monitors. I have Monster cable TRS / XLR balanced cables, that is not the issue....
ОтветитьWould these sounds show in recordings ? I’m having an issue with it showing up in the actual Track
ОтветитьNice. I have all my stuff connected to the same outlet, I have balanced cables, an iDefender and a "stereo hum destroyer/ground isolator". But I still have noise. Very frustrating.
ОтветитьWhenever my monitors are playing in a High volume it will start to crack and some how break when playing music what should I do??
Ответитьquestion, I get the feedback loop noise in my studio monitors but NOTHING in my headphones. Do you think that iDefender device will solve it for the speakers? I would expect it to exist in all outputs from the interface?
Ответитьhey, Ive disconnected both monitors and left only the power cable on and both of monitors still making this little but annoying static sound... notice that one side the volume went lower overall than the other but that might be another unrelated issue. i think this might have something to so with the power board is connected too as ive plugged the computer in the same one
ОтветитьI'm getting that issue with the noisy USB. I suppose I can try buying that iDefender, but the frustrating part is that I wasn't getting this noise before I got a new desk. So I'm guessing there is a better configuration I need to find again, or something suddenly broke while in the desk switch. Thanks for the video! I'll reply again if I fix my issue (otherwise it's back to mostly using headphones).
ОтветитьIntrigued to try the idefender. Ive used my monitors with multiple wire combinations and several pcs to troubleshoot the noise. It turns out that i have an extra whiney GTX 1080 or Corsair PSU on my main rig. So thanks for this video, i hope it works.
Ответитьifi defender didnt do shite
ОтветитьMine eventually boiled down to using the USB 3 ports causing coil whine on the motherboard of my PC, which was then getting passed through to the USB interface, even though its an actively powered interface & I had the USB coming through an actively powered usb hub
ОтветитьI'll get back to this comment when I figure out which solution worked for me. Thanks for the comprehensive video.
ОтветитьHelppp! My HS5 as making a very high pitched sound as soon as I turn them on and I've tried everything. It does that even when it's not plugged to the interface or if absolutely nothing is on next to it (my setup is just the monitors and a scarlet 18i8 and it does that even when everything is off, the internet modem is far away as well as other electronics), when it is just simply plugged with the power cable. I've tried changing plugs but yeah it makes this noise as soon as I turn it on, just with the power cable plugged into it. What could that be??
ОтветитьMy noise that just developed is an intermittent motor-boating noise that comes when I have any browser open. It lasts for a few seconds and happens every few minutes or so. I've been in electronics most of my life, but can't seem to find this issue. Any help would be appreciated.
ОтветитьI watched your video. Good presentation. My issues are:
1. My Tube Guitar amp has a loud, what sounds like a ground loop. I've tried different outlets and different guitars. This is with all other devices in the studio off.
2. When my PC Vidoes monitors are on the noise gets real loud.
Any suggestions?
It is very wierd. Everything is crystal clear till I turn On/off my fan.
Got the board checked by electrician. Things were normal
A loud hiss white signal noise comes and falls of with the music signal.
I have the noise that comes from moving my mouse around. Focusrite DAC. I have balanced cables, tried the same and different outlets for everything, got an ifi defender, tried different USB-C cables and every USB port, and the noise persists.
ОтветитьThanks for the idea- hope it works! Really hope it's not my expensive mixer that is on the fritz =( Mine sounds like USB ground loop interference. It showed up when I installed a new graphics card into the system and have been chasing it down for many days now.
Ответитьhello bro nicee video i buy focal 80 evo i buy it yesterday but i have noise like the segond exemple but i can plus your usb denoiser because i have a sound card in my compute and i plug with jack to my focal how i can do plz
ОтветитьI've got interferance only when my graphics card is being used heavily, quite annoying. Still havent worked out how to fix that one. Using balanced trs cables, high quality.
ОтветитьI’m having that 60hz noise when I add my powered subwoofer into the mix
ОтветитьHello, I can hear a bit sounds when moving mouse or browsing some websites... but I can really hear it when my GPU starts working for example in a game... so I think with IDefender will solve the problem, do you agree?
ОтветитьI have a high pitched whine that goes silent for 5 seconds then comes on for 5 seconds on a loop
ОтветитьIf I have a PC ground loop issue and a USB interface that is not USB powered what can i use?
ОтветитьI am getting what sounds like wifi or fax type sounds any thoughts?
ОтветитьThis was useful but I still have a problem. I have computer noise but I am using a socket-powered external interface. Since you said the iFit USB solution only works with phantom-powered interfaces, what am I to do? Most of the noise seems to go through the USB cable which I am trying to fix now.
ОтветитьJust connected monitor to a different socket from smart decoder and the noise is gone, great advice, a volt guard connected from main socket to extension was causing the noise, thanks
