One Punch Man - S2 VS S1 Animation Comparison

Imo this is a poor comparison. This scene you choose from s1 was ment to look super pretty. Also, power scaling continues for genos that's why they're so quick in s2. There were tons of scenes that looked great in s2 just as s1 had. Blizzard 1st esp scene, garou vs tank top, garou vs hero gank, garou vs bang, tournament vs monsters, genos vs g4, etc. Everyone is hating big time for no reason, that at this point, it feel like it's just a wave that people are following just so they feel as they have the same opinion as others.

That's because, Season One's Studio was "MadHouse" and as for the season two the studio changed and it was called "J.C.Staff"

Get project Jam to do s3 intro with s1 animators and we're good

To me I see no difference. There’s just a lot of ungrateful brats that are not thankful for being alive to see this anime compared to people who have died without seeing it

S2 fight scenes looks like animators forgot to put their glasses on and animate 💀 they made it so blur that people with less vision can see it instead of normal people 💀☠️

S2 characters when they are about to unleash their powerful attack:
"Bravo going dark 🕶️"

My problem is how they shades genos's armor, it should be flat shades not blurry and soft.

Something I really hate about s2 is how they made all metallic objects like Geno’s, Drive Knight’s and metal knight, body have the same look that I can’t describe

i mean lets be honest here they really tried their best. opm season 1 had an amazing cast of all the most well-known animator in the industry they all came together to do a project and things like that happen rarely, its not about which studio is animating it, its about what staff is working on it. Opm season 1 Is something that should be cherished and be loved that something like that exist and we got to witness it.

JC Staff OPM S2 poor quality Animation, better they passed it to Bones Studio or WIT Studio.

What i like most about s1 is the legendary song

Season 2's fights were alright. But they were too faithful to the manga and didn't add on it.
but s1 just had better artistic direction and inspiration for the fights

S2 could have looked amazing if they were given the time they needed. Also the staff of s1 was gonna do s2 if they were given another year, but the manga executives forced out s2, and then didn't even give those animators time

I dont even remember which scenes are from season 2, there is no difference in the animation

It’s still a bummer to see just how massive the quality drop in animation quality was in S2, especially when you see series like Attack on Titan switch studios and not miss a single beat (or even improve in some areas occasionally.) I understand it was a lot to live up to, but it definitely caused OPM to drop way down many fans lists of greatest anime. From sasuga, to sasu-nah. Fingers crossed for a new studio/better animators/more time & budget for Season 3.

I'm so done with people trying to gaslight me into thinking season 2 was just fine. It was insultingly bad compared to season 1 AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS.

My complaint with S2 is that everyone has the sharpest chin in the world

Mappa is going to murder S3 with all the CGI that they will use.

S2 animation is decent overall but the dimming, camera shaking and absolutely atrocious sound design makes it near unwatchable, lets hope mappa does a better job than jc staff

I cannot make this more simple than it is..
In S2 everything looks like they cheated as many frames as possible & everything feels very static. While in S1 everything looks like it received tons of love and work. With a director that had eye for impact and movement in 3D space.

Lets be honest S2 was more funny than one like when garou tride to attack
saitama for the first time:)s2 also had better character drawing
Season 1 had a better story and animation

We really need Shingo Natsume back for season 3.....

There's not been a single gif meme of it because you literally can't make one chop some frames from it and you're literally back to manga with colors

I think what is meant to be said is that, the animation isn't bad, but rather they just lowered down the quality and went a bit low with the budget. Because if it was actually bad, it would be "seven deadly sins" levels of bad.

S2 fight is just a bunch of still picture with something moving while in S1 they actually animate the fight. The only fight scene that is good on S2 is the Garou fight
