And with the Ultra Beasts explained, we'll begin a BUNCH of Scarlet and Violet content. What new Pokemon do you think deserve a deep dive first?
ОтветитьHow did you make the origami Kartana, I need to know!!!
ОтветитьHKW THE HELL DID YOU MAKE KARTANA
ОтветитьActually there are humans in the Ultra Ruins with Guzzlord
ОтветитьGrass/Steel 570 mon destroys everything that isn’t fire: A Documentary.
ОтветитьAnother alien trope for each of the pokemon mentioned:
Kartana is the tiny, dinky weapon that deals an insane amount of damage, like the noisy cricket in MIB.
Celesteela is not only a spaceship, she is a sentient ship that is also a living being. Think Jean Jacket from Nope, or Trypticon and Omega Supreme from Transformers.
I actually have my own theory on Kartana, I believe it's based on imperial Japan, here me out? What country is most famous for invading hawaii more precisely Perl Harbour, that's right the Japanese, and the imperial Japanese did often depict themselves as samuri on propaganda, what is propaganda mostly made from? Paper you see were I'm going with this.
And the origins of imperial Japan play into the invasive species idea as in this case whos more invasive to hawaii then the Japanese? AND it would play into Celesteelas idea of humans being the invasive species.
Fun fact: there is more than one species of bamboo, and there is at least one species that’s invasive in parts of North America… and also a species native to North America: the giant river cane! Which is also an endangered species iirc

ОтветитьBeing familiar with the tale of the Bamboo Cutter, I laughed my ass off when I first saw Celesteela because she's the pokemon equivalent of Kaguya's Bamboo Shoot Rocket in Ōkami. I love Celesteela. Always name it The Bamboozler(when I can fit it)
If Kartana is named and treated like a god, it makes since it has its own Trainer Class of celestial envoys following it around.
Thanks for doing this vid! Celesteela is hands down my favorite pokemon. I wish it had more merch... I didn't realize it also had elements of Selene in it. Another detail I like is how the cut glowing ends of its bamboo thrusters are supposed to look like the glowing bamboo stalk Kaguya was found in.
ОтветитьRare dorohedoro reference sighting

ОтветитьWHY DIDNT WE GET THE BABY AS A PREVO.........we got poipole.
ОтветитьAs someone who played Okami on PS2, I feel like I was preparing my whole life for this one moment.
ОтветитьI wasn't expecting a Babylon 5 reference, but it earned my subscription.
ОтветитьWhere I live in Long Island New York bamboo is invasive
ОтветитьOkami Players: I am four steps ahead of you.
ОтветитьThe ultra beasts are underrated. Change my mind
ОтветитьI hadn't ever noticed that celesteela is totally bamboo
Ответить... that "This is disgusting! Who-" soundclip was am Uncle Roger quote, wasn't it lol. I dunno why THAT was in my mental database.
Ответить☺️ Pᵣₒmₒˢᵐ
ОтветитьMy theory on why Celesteela is inspired by the princess Kaguya tale but also looks like a rocket, it’s because of the game Okami. In Okami we can also see the character of Kaguya who returned to the moon in a bamboo-like space rocket. And also this Kaguya has a green bamboo-like space helmet as part of her character design (the early design of Okami’s Kaguya features a full-on bamboo-like space combination)
ОтветитьI do love the idea that these ultra beasts, though mystical and one of a kind to us…are just normal creatures where their from. Like imagine a planet where celesteela is just the geodude of where it’s from, it would be stunning and terrifying
ОтветитьI don't know who told you bamboo is invasive because sure hell it is! Many zoos with bamboo instillations need to keep it in check to prevent it from spreading
ОтветитьWouldn’t cosmog, cosmoem, solgaleo, lunala, and necerozma be ultra beasts?
ОтветитьI’m ashamed to admit that one of the cut transitions made my brain say “oh no my phone”
ОтветитьThis whole miniseries has inspired me to think of my own Ultra Beast
I present to you:
Dooplipi
The Collecting Pokémon
TYPE: Dark/Poison
HEIGHT: 1.7m (5"6)
WEIGHT: 160.8kg (354.6 lbs)
Appearance:
A strange purple blob that stands upright, albeit poorly, dripping and oozing like it has a hard time supporting this form. Inside it's center is a glowing pink core, with other various shades of purple blobs swirling around inside it. Also inside it are various objects, like scraps of cloth, rare gems and metal that protrude out of it when it attacks. Its shiny changes to a green color, and the metal turns a rusted maroon.
Dex entries:
SUN: An estrange lifeform from another world, it loves to collect anything it finds interesting, and it will ruthlessly fight to claim it. They are found in large packs of hundreds.
MOON: This bizarre ultra beast has a knack for collecting, taking anything it sees into its body. It is said to be surrounded by a noxious aura, and anything living that comes into contact with it, is dissolved into a similar gelatinous body.
ULTRA SUN: Dooplipi are ultra beasts commonly found in large packs, often reaching in the hundreds. They will raid anything they find interesting, converting any organic matter is touches into itself.
ULTRA MOON: It love to collect rare objects and common objects it finds interesting. Because of its toxic air, no one has been able to claim its hoard. This is one kind of ultra beast.
Habitat:
It is found in a sect of ultra space that looks like a sunken ship. All the trainers there resemble people in astronaut suits. Diolouge: "Gurr... Intruder?" "Gurgle gurgle" "GLAARR!" The trainer is revealed to be a Dooplipi in disguise. Other miscellaneous text: "W- co- ord- the S- n"
Inspirations:
Sci-fi element: It is based on a space pirate, aliens who raid planets and for glory and loot, and nothing else. Hence why it has a interest for collecting and why it has the dark type. Its also based on grey goo, a collection of organisms or Nano bots that take matter in to make more of itself, destroying everything in its path.
Invasive species:
The primary inspiration for invasive species is less of one animal, and more of a concept. It is based on the idea of rapid colonization and plundering. The destruction of cultures and subsequent homogenizing of them, (why its entries state that it coverts anything it touches and steals rare elements wherever it goes.) Its also based on the many disease that colonizers would bring to natives, who had no immunity to the foreign disease brought by colonizers, hence why it resembles a large bacteria like organism, its shiny is green (how bacteria is depicted in pop culture), and the poison type.
Other real world inspirations:
It is also based on the theoretical matter, strange matter/quarks. Supposed matter that exists in neutron stars that have the ability to convert other matter it touches into strange matter.
I have Kaguya Houraisan, Touhou's version of Princess Kaguya, to thank for my innate knowledge on Celesteela's origins.
Ответитьwhen you watch too much Naruto-Kaguya otsutsuki
ОтветитьY'know, this whole talk about Ultra Beasts having foundations on Invasive Species makes me think a whole lot on what makes good fakemon. And then I thought back to the Ultra Beasts you made for the Kaskade region and thought about the fact you never had invasive species in mind, doesn't make them bad fakemon per-se.
Though, with some stretching, Leosease is a cat serpent, the former is a notorious invasive species and the latter, after a quick search, some species of python are invasive in some places. No idea for the rest of the members.
Honestly, I took some glances at some fanmade ultra beasts and see just some alien-animal and alien-object mon, or an alternate version of kartanna and I somewhat shake my head.
I dunno, just wanted to spit ball down thoughts.
whenever i hear about the bamboo cutter story and hearing the name Kaguya, i will always think about Touhou’s Kaguya

Ответитьthe stretch to say that bamboo is a reference to invasive species and not just yet another kaguya reference is so stupid...
ОтветитьWhere is he
ОтветитьAbout Kartana, Eucaliptus (the plant who they use to make paper) is a man made invasive specie. Because they do not spread as an invasive species, but the use of their wood is so great that they devastate forests and destroy their diversity to plant more
ОтветитьNew Pokemon region is here
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI have an idea for a video for you
Why Galarian Yamask has primary type Ground and secondary Ghost while Palossand has primary Ghost and secondary Ground, when it's lierally made from sand while Yamask only has a stone plate on it's tail. I would love to hear your thoughts about it <3
Waiting for a video on the 4 Legendary Scourge Pokémon
ОтветитьI'll confirm this once and for all, viking didn't have horns on their helmets 99.9% of the time. The remaining 0.01% are most likely ceremonial helmets never used in battle.
ОтветитьI love kartana he’s just a little guy
ОтветитьYou have to do a video on why there are four Chinese legendaries in a region based on Spain!
ОтветитьAnyone want to talk about the “business guy” in the new games who stands on the ledge in E. Province one overlooking S. Province three?
The dudes dialog when talking to him is asking if your the client and “if you have the stuff”. The dudes name is Mario, an Italian name in a Spanish inspired region. He has a murkrow, houndoom, and toxicroak. And he’s standing in a location that most regular citizens could let alone would go to.
Kinda shifty, just saying
