Had mine for a few years and have had no problems...except when the fishing loop on the end of the anti-skate weight falls off the end of the tone arm. It can be incredibly difficult to re-attach that look onto the spindle's 2nd notch. A music dealor suggested a drop of crazy glue to keep it on? At any rate, I love my turn-table. I upgraded the Ortofon stylus to a blue and replaced the platter with an acrylic on.
ОтветитьI love it... a good phono to grow with.. and you can upgrade to the Ortofon Blue ... and a carbon arm is included 😄😄😄😄
Ответитьi have one of those turntables they are absolutely perfect in every way.
ОтветитьIt's 2021. We need easily swapped cartridges, built in preamp and fully automatic starts and stops for every record new and old!!!
ОтветитьI'm not going to lie this is a pretty nice turntable I do not understand why manufacturers do not make tone arms with a removable head shell having to take out a cartridge this way is a pain in the ass this is one reason that I would not buy this turntable if you don't have a removable headshell
ОтветитьBought one thursday , set up for today !!!
ОтветитьQuestion please. The only place i have for a turn table is against a wall, which is only a few feet away from my right channel and subwoofer. What turn table would be a good option that can handle some nearby vibrations?
Ответить🦾
ОтветитьI've never stopped playing records, and still have every LP that I've bought since 1965 (bar one). However, the vast bulk of those I do have were acquired from the early '70s onwards.
I've had 5 turntables in all that time (two of them Pro-Ject); nothing exotic, but capable. Then last week I decided to buy the Debut Carbon. Frankly, I am stunned by the performance of this turntable at the price I paid for it (£299 in a post Christmas sale). Although I have yet to delve into recordings I bought in the 1960s, albums that are nearly 50 years old sound so much better than I have ever experienced. The once all-too-apparent surface noise is now virtually non-existant, and each and every recording sounds very musical.
This turntable doesn't just play records, it engages the listener and holds their attention from beginning to end of every side played.
Recommended.
Project Carbon over hyped, over priced. Durable?
ОтветитьNot a single criticism or con? Best turntable ever eh?
This is a marketing video, not a review. Clickbait
I had several belt drive turntables in the 80s and all had a speed selector on top..some for 3 speeds...wtf
ОтветитьHe might as well just wipe his ass with his records..
ОтветитьRega P1 sounds better - Same price and with a lesser cartridge! - Probably due to Rega's tonearm\bearing superiority. See review comparison on HiViNyws channel... Don't get pulled into Carbon's marketing. It's tonearm doesn't deliver despite its carbon attraction. :)
ОтветитьVery impressed with mine (with 2M Silver cartridge) on my foray back into vinyl. Dr. Alimantado "Born for a Purpose" (1979) was my first track. Almost cried. Of course have now also had to buy a record cleaning system...
ОтветитьMine arrived today. The set-up was simple and quick. The first LP I played was my Alan Parsons Project - Pyramid album I bought in 1978 (that's right I've had it since then), and it has never sounded better. I heard details , dynamics and bass I've never heard before. The record player I had before this was the DJ favorite Numark TTX USB. While this is great for DJ use there is nothing like an audiophile turntable for a truly musical experience. The Pro-Ject is easily the best turntable I've owned or listened to since the late 70's-early 80's when audiophile turntables were all the rage. With my new Pro-Ject Debut Carbon I am like the prodigal son returning to my audiophile roots. It's great to be home!
ОтветитьWould be nice to know more about its features, what it does for that price also, found this to be pretty useless...
ОтветитьHow the HELL do you switch speeds on this unit?
Is anyone else wondering the same thing here?
Could not agree more . Just picked up a red one and it sounds great. With a Yamaha amp/receiver and Cerwin Vega speakers and an Energy 10" sub and WOW Music Is alive again. Just love my MUSIC.
ОтветитьHonestly, this non-review is the sort of thing that makes researching purchases so difficult. I need details, not sexy camera angles. That was four minutes of shilling the company. Sorry, but this is a Pro-Ject commercial. It might very well be an awesome turntable, but this review revealed nothing other than it looks cool as heck! The search goes on....
ОтветитьRemove the platter, move the belt, return the platter, lower the tonearm. All this to switch from 33 to 45. What a crappy way to do things. Long live DD!!
ОтветитьHello,
I'm new in this whole vinyl thing and I'm about to buy my first turntable, so I'm deciding between this one and Denon dp-400... Which one would you recommend and why? Or if you would recommend any other?
Thank you very much and have a great day
What pre-amp would you recommend for this player?
ОтветитьEntry level?, so is that the diference of a 1000 plus dlls turntable ?
ОтветитьThanks from Brazil
Ответитьagree, - that's one is the best one ! much better then all that chinaman's made for Japan's brands...
ОтветитьI just got mine from Crutchfield! No tax free shipping! I love it! Got it hooked up to my Technics receiver & Cerwin Vega LS 12's! Vinyl for life!
ОтветитьThe Music Hall mmf 2.3 has a better arm.
Ответить国会大厦同人 首都
ОтветитьThe arm is nice but the one on the Music Hall is fully adjustable.
ОтветитьFinger rookie.
ОтветитьNo real info , bad review..
ОтветитьThis or the Rega Planar 1?
ОтветитьI noticed that when you showed the motor in your video the transport screws were still installed into the motor. Removing these screws isolates the motor and drastically lowers the motor vibrations that will be transferred into the playback and affect the sound negatively. Let me know what you guys think about this? Cheers
Ответитьcommentaires en Français , pour quand !...
ОтветитьA japanese vintage table will blow this out of the water. These tables are overpriced.
ОтветитьLearn how to handle records properly first. It shows that you are only doing this for business not really a lover of the hobby. Sadly.
ОтветитьLooks nice, but I'm still SOOOO happy to gotten rid of vinyl years ago!
If it's not on CD, it's not for me!
track id please?
ОтветитьThis might sound like a very STUPID question - I want to purchase my first vinyl player.. Do they have their own source of sound or can I plug it into my studio monitors ??
ОтветитьPlz do more turntable reviews!
ОтветитьI'm selling my dp-300f to contribute towards my purchase of this turntable.
ОтветитьMust admit not a fan of either Pro Ject or Music Hall. I have a expensive model and the bearings are not great in the arm. They slip out of place . These bearings are put in with tenson and if they go south they have to be taken apart and realigned which requires a jig. Unexceptabke for my two grand table. Should have stuck with Rega.
ОтветитьThis or a u turn with same cartridge, acrylic platter, and cue lever?
Ответитьthis sounds like an ad, not a review. It's hard to believe a reviewer who benefits from the products' sales.
ОтветитьDoes it only play 33 1/3 RPM LPs? What if you need to play 45 RPM vinyls too? Btw looks amazing :)
ОтветитьI thought that the esprit model was the only one with a speed box built in.
ОтветитьThis guy didn't grow up with vinyl looking at the way he handles LPs.
