Thank you for making this video!

So what's the big difference between Sound Studio and Audacity?

Also have you ever tried Davinci Resolve? If so why do you like Vegas better than it?

I just picked up this bundle. Buying a new computer next week to install Vegas Pro.
I'm running Vegas Pro 14 right now.
I didn't want to go the Adobe route, so this is a cheap option for a decent editor.

17 days, 34$ CDN. That's a good price. I couldn't give a quack about the dvd editor...that's just...lulz...is that seriously the msrp for it? 99.99? U can do all that for free in ffmpeg....it would be even funnier if it ran on ffmpeg. I've been looking to upgrade to one of the top dog editors just to see what they can and can't do. adobe is stupidly expensive, and the whole monthly thing is ridiculously so if u can do math. This seems like a good try especially since its on for another 17 days and u can try the freetrial in teh meantime on vegas site.

Were you running the 2.8 VSE in blender? Cause that thing was still hopelessly buggy when I tried it a month ago, stick to 2.79b as its unlikely to be fixed until months after 2.8 actually releases....if at all as there is no active developer or cares given for the vse. Most of the changes were ui based to make it mimick other video editors on the market.....at the cost of functionality.....ya, its retarded. they applied some of the user generated content to it, like the filters (lighten, darken, etc)..but u can get those for 2.79b alrdy and all the other addons are broken for 2.8 so there is literally no merit in using 2.8 vse until they crossover the addons or a+ctually integrate them or their functionality into 2.8...and u can bet ur ass that's a years away if not 3.

Avoid Vegas. As a videomaker, that's my advice.

DaVinci Resolve is just free and makes everything vegas does, and better. You can use it even just for audio, it comes with a mastering and effects suit embedded into it. Advanced effects and insane resolutions are behind a paywall but even the 'basic' ones are more than enough, and its free effects and color engine are top notch.

Quite fast in mediocre machines (like mine).

For video editors that are on the freeish side there is always Light Works.

I'm a game dev and I use Vegas Pro for sound editing almost every day and I create my trailers with it. Definitely recommend.

Thanks for the content! BTW, Just wondering if Vegas Pro is fast enough nowadays or it is the same slow monster like it used by during Sony time?
P.S.
I am using BlueRay players (4K, Samsung model) and buying BDs and DVDs. I don't want to be dependent on any subscribtion models, I don't want to be limited by bandswidth of the inernet channels and capabilities of the streaming services. I want to have 24*7 to the content w/o any limitations for network service maintaince or "this content is not available in your region" messages. With Disks I receive version that has top-quality, w/o streaming compression artifacts, usually it also has extra materials -- like muliple possible finals, uncut version, authors comments, extra footage that was shot. You can't get it with streaming services. And another reason is -- once recorded on disks -- the version will not be altered by any liberal pussies that cry in pain about not acceptable content that violates or ruins someones attitude ,etc.

What if you already have Vegas Pro 14 (ie, the previous version, which I got in another Humble Bundle a couple of years ago)?

Just use HitFilm Express. It's free and everything gamedevs need for trailer making!

Vegas is great video editing software. It's really no more difficult to learn than Premiere and pretty much just as capable. I got Vegas 14 in a bundle and upgraded to 15 a while back. These are mostly all the prior versions of the available software, but are all very capable and no-brainers for the money asked. I have had audio sync issues with Vegas using compressed capture footage (i.e. mp4) and pretty much had to use something like motion jpeg to be successful -- which is fine, but takes up huge swaths of HD space if you're making tutorials and such. I have also used Davinci Resolve which is free and works quite well on highly compressed footage. Most of the tutorials and demos I made for SALSA with RandomEyes were made with Vegas. The main difficulty in Vegas is the titler. It's very powerful, but also not quick and easy. When I upgraded to V15 I received Boris Title Effects and it is only marginally less difficult and quick to use.

Bought. GFS get's 100%! I've been using Sony Vegas 9 since it was taught in college. It also has some great audio editing features.

I wish Humble Bundle made a week at the end of the year (during black Friday week for instance), to grab the top 30 best selling bundles of the year you may missed to be able to have a second chance in case you missed.

I think DVD/BluRay creation is still valid. There's a growing market of collectors out there who want to have a hard copy of their favorite movies and artistic content rather than just borrowing it from some streaming service out there in the ethereal cloud. I think it's kind of sad that there's a whole generation of people who don't see value or prestige in actually owning the stuff they like, rather than "leasing" their entertainment from a 3rd party. It's such a needlessly throw away mentality we have anymore. This goes for software too.

I missed this bundle. Good thing they re-released it. Hope they put up another bundle again, like the C++ one.
