What piece of advice would you give to those who want to get into Google? "You have to be either Chinese or Indian"
ОтветитьGoogle has the most toxic environment.
Googlers run on entitlement and deligate orders for others to invent for them, and they take the credit for invention.
80% of Google’s workforce are contractors and vendors, and
a) they do not get any benefits
b) they are used like replacement battery in a remote control
c) recognition and support are nonexistent
Just be an Asian.
ОтветитьAdvice from the top 1% Software engineers, "Keep jumping around if you have the skills and they need you, why the F you want to stay on one place, jumping around gave you significant increase in salary instead of salary increase per year. Start working on middle size company and if you feel good enough, keep jumping until you got to the biggest one and retired". These companies won't hesitated a single second to removed you in case they need to decrease their expenses, so why would you be loyal to them? they don't give a sh*t about loyalty.
Ответить'Excuse me sir, how long have you been on the Google Campus, The Goopus?'
ОтветитьI loved my time at Google, was really happy there. I agree with XT that it's more about who you work with and what you are working on that makes a role satisfying
Ответитьso I got why google become shit... Because there are a lot of Indians
ОтветитьSo glad I stumbled on this video as I was having a hard time securing an internship position. This kicked my motivation back up :)
ОтветитьXT is cool asf
Ответитьin their mind: 'google is watching me i need be careful'
ОтветитьWorking at Google is awesome.
ОтветитьKevin can you have podcast with XT
ОтветитьXT if you’re reading this love you man ❤ you gave best advice
ОтветитьThe advices given by the software engineers at Google in the video are:
Allison: Keep trying, never give up in your quest to get into Google.
Eric: Don't stress out too much over preparing for the interview, it's not all about solving leetcode problems.
Another Engineer: Be yourself during the interviewing process, and don't spend too much time on leetcode.
Ashutosh: Work on your basics, and understanding some cool concepts. Focus on threading, parallelization, and similar concepts.
Yusuf: Show that you have problem-solving abilities. You don't have to get the question exactly right, but showing that you understand the processes and algorithms would make a difference.
Another Engineer: You should be able to use the Java collection framework and data structures well to be able to solve problems.
Shantanu: If you have the basics down, you can crack the interview. Other companies might ask trick questions, but Google focuses more on the basics.
Another Engineer: Don't give up if you don't find a suitable role immediately. Sometimes even more perfect roles come up.
Equity: Understand how things work. Try hard to understand how to make things work. Look at the kind of interview questions Google asks and prepare for them, but focus most on what you want to do as an engineer. Think about the skill sets you want to have and grow them.
These tips are a summary of the personal advice given by different software engineers at Google. They all had a common theme about focusing on basic concepts, problem solving, and personal growth. They also emphasized the importance of being yourself and not giving up.
Very misleading. 80% of them should have Indian faces.
ОтветитьWhere would you like to work more at Google or Apple?
ОтветитьFormer Googler here: bear in mind that no FTE Googler will ever say they don't like Google on camera. If someone in your management chain sees that it could be enough to stop getting the opportunities you need for a good perf rating and eventual promotion.
Ответить"Leetcode is boring, don't do leetcode" = Solves 200 questions
Not everyone is as bright as you QingYang
I'M A QUANTS DEVELOPER - Make over $2 Million a year (including bonus & company stock). I work for a large alternative investment management company. I make tons of money for the company with the algorithms I develop. That is why I get paid what I do.
ОтветитьCrazy most of em are asians 😂
ОтветитьLoad of ⚽️🔒🔒🔒. Top Software Engineers don’t work at Google.
ОтветитьEric, what's your name?
ОтветитьIs it always the same indian guy?
ОтветитьXT is he
Ответитьwhat the hell is threading and paralization?
ОтветитьGreat interviews !
ОтветитьNo such thing as a software "engineer". You are a code monkey
Ответить"maybe 200"
dude
XT is the one Anxiety fears of ..... wholesome person, positivity he has is phenomenal 😎
ОтветитьXiangtian is exactly like one of my favorite computer science professors. Also a Chinese(I'm Chinese myself), when talking about algorithms and some topic in cs, his face will always light up and have infinite words about them. Amazing. I hope I can be an engineer like them, being passionate about things I love all the time, and always inspirational to next generation.
ОтветитьAll are Asian
Ответитьyou said one piece too many times, i now no longer want to be a software dev and now want to be a pirate
ОтветитьL advice
ОтветитьAlways remember, a Software Engineer can't give right live advices.
ОтветитьXT had some real wisdom to spread out. Wow
ОтветитьGreat video. As you can tell...we don't hire black people.
ОтветитьXT is super cool :D Could be a nice colleague.
ОтветитьAwesome advice from XT
ОтветитьXT is the legend.

ОтветитьReal advice: If you want to work in tech, rethink what boxes you check (this includes your name, if you think those survey questions are anonymous.)
ОтветитьThe communist factory and chinese spy playground keeps going strong ✊🏻
ОтветитьXT is the real MVP. I will take his advice to heart when starting my journey towards becoming a full stack dev in 3 weeks!
