Which wheelbase and wheel do you have? I'm very satisfied with my Simagic purchase. Now for some driving!
ОтветитьI move from fanatec csl dd 8 nm to simagic alpha with the neo, idont know call me crazy i like more the details of the csl , I'm having trouble adjusting my simmagic wheel base to my liking, maybe i need more time to get it right.
ОтветитьFor what is the Maglink when you use the Simagic Wheel Base?
ОтветитьSo how is it compared to the dd1 So far?
ОтветитьI just switched from a CSL-DD 8 nm + McLaren GT3 to a Simagic Alpha + Neo. I didn't really have a major issue with Fanatec or the DD, just wanted some 15+ NM (mostly just to get more exercise!) and Simicube was a lot more expensive for what it is. Really liking it in the first month.
ОтветитьAsetek and GSI spoiled
ОтветитьI went from Logitech, to Fanatec, to Moza, to simagic, and I really enjoy the simagic gear. Super happy with the simagic hydraulic pedals. It has and amazing amount of configurations for the load cell brake pedal. The haptics on the pedals is pretty dang good.
ОтветитьIm using the GT Neo on my Fanatec DD Pro 8nm at the moment. Used the SRM emulator and adapter to connect to the base. Will at some point move over to the Simagic Alpha base but for the time being this setup is working fine. Using the heusinkveld Sprint pedals.
ОтветитьHappy Un Boxing day
ОтветитьThis is where im at.
I have a csl dd 8nm and love it by the way.
But when (if) i make the move to a 15nm base, im not sure if I want the CS DD+ or simagic alpha.
I do think the ffb is gonna be better on the Fanatec. But to be honest, i just wish I knew how big that difference actually is.
As a csl dd user, would I be impressed regardless of which base I chose? Im particularly worried about losing low torque fidelity- something the csl dd is known to be good for
Good stuff, great to know your switch wasn't a downgrade in any way.
I switched my wheel recently from the McLaren GT3 v2 to GT Neo, a noticeable improvement.
Next switch will be the 8Nm DD to an Alpha wheelbase (the 15Nm one).
For now I'll keep the pedals (CSL Elite v2s) as I really like them.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the PSR3 rig - looking at getting this too to go with my Alpha Mini and GT Neo
ОтветитьActually there is one complaint, that stupid green led!
ОтветитьI went from csl dd to moza r9 to simagic alpha mini.... simagic is much better. My only issue is coil whine if (which I dont anyway) use force feedback detail above 9. Otherwise zero complaints. I need to get the maglink for more flashy lights on the gt neo.
I do wish the gts wheel was cheaper as need a round wheel for arcade racers... cannot justify £400.
I got Alpha 15nm and GT Neo and gt1-R wheel plus p1000 pedal, upgrade from CSL DD 8nm what a massive difference
ОтветитьGiven that it has half the power of the DD1 did you find that the lack of power output hindered your ability to drive precisely?
ОтветитьDo you feel like the mini has enough detail for gt3 and f1?
ОтветитьIn regards to led’s, check out Daniel Newman Racing
ОтветитьStrange to go down to 10nm base from DD1. Definitely better quality than Fanatec though
ОтветитьI decided to upgrade to the dd+ and im so shocked at how good it is. I did not expect fanatec to jump up so much. Its the best base ive ever used. If you go watch dan suzuki, boosted media and many others they are all surprised also even rating it higher then asetek wirh ffb details and ffb implementation. I love love my alpha but the dd+ has blown my mind and I cant wait to use full force.
Im only saying this stuff because your comment asked us which we have. Oh I also have the leoxz xgt pro gt3 wheels otw. It works with fanatec out of the box with the qr2 uses the same pins as fanatec so all base settinfg work from the wheel. Out of the box.
I will say peoppe get caught up in all of the talks about switching believing the grass is greener on the other side and it usually isnt. I did the same and as you see im back with fanatec. I adapted to there ffb and I much prefer the polished feel of it. Now you have the dd+ which has all of the speed the newrr bases have with ffb and has that fanatec feel but just more intense. It also is the only base that can fully hold its holding torque nonestop without any dips at all. So it feels much stronger then its 15nm holding torque rating.
Also keep in mind the alpha mini is actually around 13nm even if it says 10nm. Now with saying all of this most of these wheelbases are so similiar it doesnt really matter what you get lol.
One thing i will say when comparing the alpha and dd+ to the dd1 is that my laps are faster with the dd+ and the alpha. Idk what it is probably the slew rate and control. The alpha and dd+ really are so so similiar. I only got the dd+ to play with friends on console i was used to 15nm so went hey lets do it and now i find myself always using the dd+ even on pc and tbh I cant tell you why I just want to use it.
I'm so confused with how you are grabbing the wheel, they even add a groove to be easier to grab it with how it's designed to.
ОтветитьI did the same 1,5 year ago and never looked back.
Only thing I want is that Simagic release a Neo like priced 32cm round wheel because the GT1 is around 450 euro over here and I would only use it for some rally
Freakin love the double clutch gt4 wheel I have though 😍
Got Moza R5 now but goin for simagic when my wallet says yes :D only do rally so going for a round wheel, hate to say it but that fanatec wheel looks 100 times better than the neo.
ОтветитьGot the same combo few days ago, but with alpha base 15nm, great piece of kit comming from csl dd.
ОтветитьNice video, thanks. Can't wait to ditch the Fanakek gear myself as well. Defs getting the simagic pedals, and probably go with a base from them as well.
ОтветитьI went from a 10yo Clubsport and BMW rim to the Mini and the Neo after a great deal of research. After getting used to it (soft and hardware) my first thought was "You cheating dogs!" hah. The information coming from the wheel was like going from dialup to broadband and made my gameplay so much more immersive. I have had it for a couple of weeks and the honeymoon period shows no sign of coming to a close. I have also just found out how good older street cars are with 1200 degrees of rotation and ATS run with over 2k wheel rotation just puts me there.
BTW I put the hard lock at 220 for ACC. It is not often in the big scheme of things that I have to go past that in GT3's but I can push through it when needed but a tank slapper wont adjust my thumbs to places I do not like. Also GT3 across the top of Bathurst now has a whole level of pucker factor that I have not experienced before. Zero regrets on the ecosystem change.
I recently bought a Clubsport DD. It broke after just two months. I'm tempted to buy the same gear you have and just sell the Fanatec base and wheel at some point in the distant future when they've fixed it. Btw, you can run much lower brake balance with the Mclaren in ACC. For most tracks, 47 % is fine.
