People in their early 20s can't give consent now? Regardless, I suspect that the reason age gap relationships don't work out when the younger partner is under 25 is because most relationships don't work out when people are under 25. Ultimately, they're not really looking for a long term relationship - so I don't see why it matters how old the person they choose to date is?

Age gap relationships sometimes matter because couples with a rather big age gap are less likely to have kids, and that only matters if the couples want kids. I don’t think couples with a big age gap usually plan to have kids.

The same power dynamics would exist for a wealthy 18-19-20 year old guy and a broke girl of the same age . So in high school the guy with the really nice car,wealthy parents and money to spend has the same financial power as a older guy that's financially stable. Also in 2023 a guy who's of that age but Is doing really well as a you tube or twitch streamer would also have that same power imbalance with girls his own age.

I am in Vegas at the moment but spent many years in Vietnam and Asian countries and still have ties to those places. Hard to find a woman my age who is single in any of those places so I naturally dated women 15 plus years younger than I. At first, I was insecure. Now, I find it natural and doesn't even occur to me that we have an age difference. I also adore women though and have always valued my partners no matter my age or their age. That said, now it looks sorta weird to me to see a younger woman with a man her age. Like, doesn't she want someone older than a young boy? LOL
