Why making the template so big that you have to resize the coaster so much at the end. Absolutely pointless. Just make the right size from the beginning

I just made this, so my thought is you really need patience..

First: I made the template too big, but that’s okay because it gave me practice on the method. So I made a new template, measuring roughly 5 inches all the way across & 5 inches top to bottom. It went pretty well the second time because I understood the routine.
(I used ten feet of 4mm macrame rope)

The tough part was tightening it up. It takes time, so go slow.

* My * tip would be to make sure your loops don’t jump the track. Keep them in order, so when you’re pulling the first row you’ll know it’s the first row in the next loop, and the second row will be the second row in that loop… and so on. (Does that make sense?)
Don’t pull it too tight.
Slow the video down and watch how she does it. Watch it repeatedly.

I think it gets easier with practice. Don’t expect perfection right away. I feel confident that my next one will be much better now that I understand how the tightness should be. I think it was a little too tight in the center. All in all, it came out pretty darn good I think.
It’s smaller than I expected though, so I might try five loops instead of four for next one.

I recommend doing this - but absolutely bring your patience!
It makes sense in your head but it DOES take perseverance.
