How can you even compare two camera's underwater performance when one is using a spherical underwater housing? That's crooked to say the least.

Thanks for this- I just got my first GoPro (Hero 3+ Black) and the standard waterproof housing & dive housing I ordered look almost the same, so I was wondering why I even needed the dive housing... Turns out I don't!

You have really good form on your dives!

Hardly a fair comparison. You can't use a Hero 2 with the dome lens housing which can't focus underwater and compare it to the Hero 3 which already comes with a housing appropriate for underwater. Watch an actual comparison video and you can see there isn't really much difference.

mmh i have house diving and red filter for the Hero 2 my underwater videos are way better then yours....just compare the houses it's no wonder that the hero 3 makes better vids with a flat glass...think this is water !

He was using the one the comes with it is you buy the hero 3 i dont think you need the dive one unless your really into it

not really the hero 2 had a fish i lens -.- and the hero3 black had a flat so thats the reason its not sharp underwater

It was the standard housing, not the dive housing.

does anyone know if he was using the dive housing or just the standard waterproof housing? I saw on the GoPro site that they do suggest to buy the dive housing otherwise the footage will be out of focus.
