Gilda was one of a kind, her different characters on SNL were hilarious. I know what Gene was saying when Gilda would take out her anger on Gene, what she told him is exactly what I saw so many times and explained to friends and family members of my patients. I am a retired oncology nurse, the patients were so vulnerable, filled with fear and anger and of course all the physical side effects, the pain and nausea, they did not want to take that out on their caregivers, but a spouse, adult child, dear friend they could let it out knowing that person loved them and would always be there for them. How happy I am to have been able to enjoy all the laughs Gilda brought to the world, and how sad she passed too soon.
ОтветитьWe met, we got married, did 3 movies, she got sick and died. Not the most memorable way to recount a relationship....but there was some admiration there and definitely sadness. He deserved happiness after that tragedy.
ОтветитьR.I.P. to both of them🙏🏾
ОтветитьHaunted Honeymoon is a forever favorite movie
ОтветитьHe was hilarious as the waco kid in blazing saddles.
ОтветитьGene I feel for you.
ОтветитьI think Gene was a product of his generation and knows how to compartmentalize. But what this is is honest, raw and real. Relationships are so complicated. This was one.
ОтветитьI think gene loved gilda, and its alright to love and miss them still
ОтветитьWhy is willy wonka making me cry at 9:37am
ОтветитьOvarian cancer to me is one of the most scariest cancers.. they still don't have good screening tools and it's so deadly
ОтветитьThere is no logical reason for this, but "The ducks are in the water." reminds me of "Put the candle back."
ОтветитьGene Wilder could never tell a lie. He seems pretty blunt here but you know everything he says about Gilda is genuine. And that's the man she fell in love with. Love that apartment story.
ОтветитьDefinitely need to resurface Gilda Radners work.
ОтветитьTHe ducks are in the water? She couldn't give him her phone number?
Ответитьawwwe love he called her a fire fly ✨️♥️✨️
ОтветитьYou made my childhood so happy and full of laughter young Frankenstein blazing Wonka to name the top ones your artwork was wonderful you crafted a character will the audience in mind , I think, and I always loved to tell people about you two and how much someone can be in love not just love Thank you Mr.Wilder and Mrs Ratner for making me smile in happy and sad moments you guys could always bring a smile not just to my face but my heart and mind laughed as well and that's rare you genuine presence is so refreshing unlike other great actors/comedians you always seemed to appreciate the other side of entertainment,,,,the rest of the world thanks for all you did
ОтветитьBruising up in Scotland.. We didn't have SNL, I didn't even know about it. I would see Genr and Gilda etc in the movies. Gilda could make me laugh like no one else at times. She could make something hilarious or of noting but a look. She was brilliant.
ОтветитьI relate to Gene a lot when it comes to losing a spouse after battling illness for years and only being together a relatively (and unfairly) short amount of time. Watching the documentary that came out this year was really beautiful; it brought me to tears at multiple points. Though I don't think you have to go through losing a spouse for that to be the case. He was a wonderful person.
ОтветитьHe asked Gilda “why can’t you treat me like any stranger you meet?”
And she replied “you’re my husband … I can’t take my anger out on them.”
And then she gave em that title “kiss me like a stranger.”
I think what she meant by it was an apology for how she used Gene as a crutch, bearing her pain and sadness on him instead of being a loving wife — hence “kiss me like a stranger.”

She was his everything
ОтветитьHe is still devastated
ОтветитьI wonder if she was with Kaiser Permanente. They either misdiagnose or diagnose too late almost every time. I think they’re part of the depopulation movement.
ОтветитьI totally related to this..made me bawl. My Mom died of ovarian cancer 4 years after Gilda.
ОтветитьSad. I loved them both though.
ОтветитьNo one could ever compare to Gilda Radner ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 😇
ОтветитьBest hollywood couple ever.
ОтветитьThanks. You seem a good and honest man.
ОтветитьWe lost two greats Gilda, Radner and Gene Wilder. These to make me laugh and I still cry, thinking about the loss of both of them.. we miss you both.
Ответить❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьOne of the most authentic celebrities, Gene Wilder. Miss them both.
ОтветитьI miss you Gene. You were entertainment.
ОтветитьGene Wilder I will always remember for his role as Willie Wonka! This was years before he met Gilda! Gilda always remember as playing Roseanne Rosannadanna and Barbara Wawa on Saturday Night Live! Both truly great comedians in their own right! Rest in peace, Ms. Radner and Mr. Wilder!
ОтветитьOutstanding miss you 😢!
ОтветитьYou could see in that interview Gilda was the love of Gene's life.
ОтветитьI love and admire his complete honesty about Gilda. I miss them both. ❤
ОтветитьBrilliant! So glad to have been alive to see them both charm my life and our world. This is a remarkable interview! Thank you!
ОтветитьVery generous of him to share his memories. I'm glad they got together.
ОтветитьR.I.P. Mr. Wonka and Rosanna Danna….. your memories live with people who watched and enjoyed you entertaining us. 😢
ОтветитьPeople cry a lot.
ОтветитьThe relationships you have with others can feel strange. It's not always love at first sight, prom, kids, and happily ever after. And this is a testament to that. It's messy sometimes. It doesn't mean it's not real, it doesn't mean it's hard, it doesn't mean it's easy. It was what it was. Quantifying it isn't really a measure.
ОтветитьTakes your breath away listening to him talk about her …..
ОтветитьI cherish hearing his unvarnished account. Awesome!!!
ОтветитьWhen asked if he missed her, There was no need to say, “I didn’t love her like I love my wife.”
ОтветитьRight person wrong time
ОтветитьThis interview deserves way more views. So heartfelt and emotional
ОтветитьI am so happy that she had you (GENE WILDER) in her last years. She was so PRECIOUS TO MANY PEOPLE. I STILL WATCH HER ON THE ORIGINAL SNL AS ROSEANNE ROSEANNA DANNA. She was the ABSOLUTE PRECIOUS LADY THAT MANY OF US LOVED AND STILL LOVE. I WATCH OLD SNL EXcerpts OF GILDA AND STEVE MARTIN. THE WERE THE BEST IN OUR EARLY SNL. GILDA WAS THE STAR OF SNL FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. I STILL MISS THIS PRECIOUS LADY.❤❤
ОтветитьShe was hilarious
ОтветитьI read it and it was great❤
ОтветитьInteresting: Reports of their marriage have always painted it as the most perfect union - Two souls connecting with absolutely no obstacles.
Now, I've learned: There were PLENTY of obstacles - more than just her illness - but they were enough to battle them for as long as they had together.
