Milsim Loadout - Beginner

Im making a enclave/government agent type uniform
All black uniform with varying degree of gear

My last milsim, I was part of the insurgent faction (it was Middle East based). My kit consisted of a CYMA AK, a soccer jersey, tan pants, a shemagh, Salomon shoes and a Chicom chest rig. Aside from the Salomons, that was the cheapest kit I ever assembled.

What eye protection should I use if I have glasses? I have trouble finding good over glasses goggles...

Other less-obvious gear recommendations:
- Event-specific items required for death/revive/medic gameplay (read your event rules)
- Spare socks in case your boots get drenched (2-layer backpacking method works well to prevent blisters)
- A small roll of duct tape (gear breaks all the time at Milsims, especially sites with a lot of concrete/metal/glass). Good for blisters too.
- A flashlight or headlamp NOT attached to your gun (you'll find dark areas on some sites even during the daytime, and you'll find yourself looking at maps and searching for objective items sometimes)
- A lightweight rain layer (you won't always need it, but it's nice to have on you when a drizzle happens)
- A decent radio such as a Baofeng UV5R (NOT because you want to crowd the radio channels, but because long walks to and from respawn can make it difficult to get back to your squad or organize group respawns VS individual).
- A simple first-aid kit for cuts/scrapes to light gashes (stuff happens, people trip)
- More than a day's worth of charged batteries + a way to charge them overnight (even if your starting battery never runs out, a squadmate's might).

If I'm not mistaken msw requires specific weapons for nato vs Russia. Russians need Russian weapons and NATO troops need NATO weapons.

This isn't necessarily milsim specific but where can i get shoulder armor like the shoulder pads alex was wearing in Modern Warfare 2019?

Knee pads knee pads knee pads knee pads knee pads, you're welcome! If you play outdoors during the winter or in rain, buy some Helikon gaiters. If you're cheap with gear, it's going to perform cheap, it doesn't matter if it's real life or not, you're wearing out your gear as if it is, don't be cheap, especially if you play frequently. If you have glasses, buy some Rothco OTG goggles, they fit over your glasses, have full seal, and are safety rated.

How old do you have to be to play at milsims (average). Btw thanks this is a great starter kit

I have two questions:

1. Is there any helmet setups that is most efficient to have everything?

2. When is the only time to use the secondary weapon (such as the pistol)?

Don’t skip that face protection, I was at a milsim last weekend and took a shot to the face point blank, I had been running mesh all day but I took it off for the night engagement and that was the only time I took a shot to the face.

Thoughts on the hydration pack plate things?

You forgot like the second most important part of any loadout: a gun. Can't really enjoy a milsim if you don't have some type of bb-spewing weapon 😆
