Resize a VirtualBox Disk To Larger Than 2TB From the Command Line

If you ever need to increase the size of a VirtualBox VDI file for a VM to a size larger than 2TB then you will need to do it from a command line. The process is fairly simple assuming you know the path to your disk file on your host computer.

Here is an example of the command that you can edit before running. This is for a 3TB disk size (3145729MB).

VBoxManage.exe modifyhd "C:\YourVMLocation\VMName\DiskName.vdi" --resize 3145729

Does this only work for dynamically growing vitual drives or also for those with fixed size?
