I'm taking a day trip w/ my partner this week and I'm just looking for some easy, pack it cold ideas we can just up & go w/o spending any money and using stuff we already have. Thanks for the inspo!

My husband and I have been camping with our kids (who still go with us as adults) for over 30 yrs. One of my camping hacks is to make breakfast burritos at home; filled with hash browns, sauteed veggies, green chile, and pinto beans (I live in NM where we put green chile on everything!). I wrap them first in parchment paper, then foil. You can reheat on top of coals, or camping stove. I love your suggestion of a potato packet; I will definitely give that a try.

Would love to hear a take on backpacking food when maximum energy and minimal weight are crucial. Seems like you have done a fair bit of dehydrating, so what are the simplest to soak, heat and eat? Or even eat cold? I've found one company "Food for the Sole" which makes mostly WFPB meals but would love ideas on making it from scratch.

Hello; i love making chicken corn chowder at camp. We cook on a propane camp stove. Also love making packet meals and steam them on our propane portable tabletop grill! Love making &eating our meals outdoors as long as the bugs are not too plentiful. Love making polenta on my camp tabletop stove next to a campfire,in my mind, it seems to take on the smoky notes and adds to the deliciousness of the meal! Love your video& ideas!

I just made some garbonzo beans in my pressure cooker (12 Min) and was looking for some recipes. Thanks for the reminders. I love packing the food in the Mason jars. Such a great idea for travel of any kind. So much better than rice cakes, almond butter and dates. It was better than salted peanuts and pretzels, but these are outstanding ideas for camping or any travel. Plus you can leave the mason jar with anyone you visit. They are always glad to have them, or fill them up for the trip back. Wow. Great ideas. Thanks, Dillon, and Reebs.

When I do potatoes and veggies in a foil pack I add a few ice cubes to help keep things steamy. Works every time!!

We camped so much when my kids were little but haven't done it in years. I wasn't plant based then but we always had so much fun. I loved pitching the tent, sitting in the woods reading and especially the campfires! I'm a grandma now but have been thinking about camping this summer. Maybe I'll get the family to do a campout and try these meal ideas :) Thanks for posting the recipes!
