If you want to make an animated GIF from scratch first you must install the GIMP

Okat let's say you have a gif with 20+ frames. However all the frames are set to play for 10ms. How do I change them all to 100ms at the same time? Do I have to go through each frame and change it manually or is there an option to edit the timing on all of them in once move.

i havent played with it much, but if worst comes to worst put the layer opacity low, and then back up when youre done with the frame. Hope this helped :D

[current Gimp version: 2.8] Unfortunately there is no onion skin feature yet, so you have to change the layer opacity.

when you open up GIF, you magically have a Layer Tab box, with the "eye" etc.. My version of GIMP does not have that. I have to create layers from the top tab, which is annoying

i make mine and it still displays all the previous frames. all the way through the animation they never disapear. im using gimp two and would really appreciate some help...........

@nrdmonkey42 try toclick the eye button before the layer until you're using that layer.

Thank you! I was getting frustrated having done this a hundred times before. I knew I must have been doing something wrong, and it turned out I was putting a space between the value and the ms instead of all one word. By the way, don't let your battery get so low. You're freaking people out. XD

So, I'm trying to make a gif that is transparent. Obviously the other layers are showing behind it. Any way to help me?

@SUPERPEDOPENGUIN Woops! I made a smal mistake. Windows>Dockable Dialogs>Layer

@SUPERPEDOPENGUIN You have to go to Tool>Dockable DIalogs>Layers OR Open GIMP> press ctrl+L Either or of those should open up your Layers Box/Tab

He's lucky his cpu didn't shut off in the middle of this lol

Ok when i view my animation it works fine except when it goes to the next frame, the last one doesnt disappear? What do i do?

Its not working for me :-/ I have the latest version of gimp and I did everything this guy said. But when I save it and click to view it. nothing happens. Help?
