I had a Yakuza dude all tatted up start some 'ish with me in Tokyo. He was wearing metal sandals, i've never seen such a thing so I turned and looked as he walked by. I thought it was very interesting. he thought I was trying to punk him so he wheeled around and squared off with me. He was smoking and looking directly in my eyes. If he was the "tough guy" of the Yakuza, I am not impressed. I would have lit him up and broke his jaw like I do in the USA but I remembered the Japan prison system and how harsh I heard it is. I walked away even though i wanted to smash this fat slob. Calling any of the men in Japan "tough" is almost laughable. Maybe a small percentage that trains, but the rest of them are girly men x100. America is 10000x more dangerous than anywhere in Japan./.

Japanese love to fly their flags over other countries, particularly East Asian countries. You will see them handing out more Rice Box flags in ROC (Taiwan) these days than in Japan. But not so many in Nanjing or Shanghai these days now that JP companies are in retreat having extracted the most from the market as they are bound to get.

Kabukicho is often described as dangerous, but in Fact, Fukuoka and Kyushu in general is much dangerous.
Kyushu men are not faglets like in Tokyo, they are very friendly but they will break your mouth if you do or say stupid things.
