I just recently started this game, so if you go in different directions than me I may not be able to keep up with the LP - but very much looking forward to watching!

Maximum hype! I haven't been able to watch you as often lately due to extreme busy-ness but I'm definitely not missing this. I played this game when it came out on DS and then bought it again on the steam rerelease. The series is just that good. Make sure to stick it out for the entire trilogy for the most mind screwy experience possible. You also get the benefit of full voice acting in 999 (the ds version we had to make up our own voices lol). Be super wary of spoilers. It's not Outer Wilds level ruination but if you accidentally Google the wrong thing you can spoil major reveals from VLR just by the link summaries. You have been warned.

At the risk of sounding like a simpleton, I was on board with this until the digital root math puzzle. Doing numerical calculations is not really how I would choose to spend my free time. But seeing as how YOU'RE doing them, I might stick with watching your Let's Play, lol... In all seriousness, I've only heard good things about this series, so I'm intrigued. Hope you enjoy it.

Been looking forward to this one for a while now. Glad to see you have a positive first impression of the visual novel style, gives me hope that you'll consider playing more visual novels down the line. 😄

I'd say the main "gameplay" of this game is the puzzle rooms, you need to keep in mind that it's a visual NOVEL so there is a ton of text with minimal "gameplay".
Quite a few visual novels are literally just clicking to read the next dialogue line with 0 voice acting and 0 "gameplay" in the traditional sense.
The 3 I recommended initially were: Zero escape, Danganronpa and AI the somnium files which I consider those 3 to have the most actual gameplay in them that I've personally played so I thought these would be the best to play for someone who has never played a visual novel since that's where I began.

the first two games of this series are definitely some of my favorite stories out there. hope you have fun with them !
