It feels weird being the one person who actually enjoyed this film. Yeah it isn’t perfect, but I still loved it. Hard fun watching it. I loved the original immensely and this one just tickles all my sci fi fancies. Even if it is a bit blegh. XD

I have to say that I actually like how they made the fighters actually able to penetrate their shields compared to the original movie. Makes the whole thing feel more cushioned compared to the massacre in the first war.

The first movie was excellent.
The second movie ruined the franchise completely.
The sequel was 100% horrible and completely way off. It was a boring superhero futuristic junk unlike the first movie that had a more real effect to it...

This is the type of movie when it says stfu don't think about and enjoy...... I'm still waiting for a third installment because to be honest this movie is so fun and stupid and i love it..... Compared to movies today

With the Harvester technology left behind from the 1st movie, I like to think that both sides were at an equal advantage this time around, with their firepower & both sides probably having shields on their ships & fighters, which could be easier to pierce on enemy fighters.

In the 1st movie, missiles did jack squat to the alien ships & their fighters, since they had impenetrable shields that missiles (including nukes) couldn't penetrate.

I like to think that with the advanced technology, the fighters on both sides have shield piercing weapons (like if the shield took enough damage, it could be deactivated until repaired, kind of like in Star Wars).

i would've loved it if it showed we were winning first. Like "Hell yeah, this aint the same planet!" and then an armada shows up. Then the despair sinks in, that we were way over our heads. The Harvesters have been doing this for aeons and we only had 20 years to prep against an alien race that spans the cosmos. it brings back the underdog moment again. the majority of the film could've happened in space, and the timer was not them reaching the core, but for the forces of earth to slowly get pushed back, and that the heroes try to figure out a way to beat the queen before they breach the last line of defense. the setting would've been not advance humans losing to aliens with the same tech, but advance humans fighting against am idea that they never really thought about, "an army of galactic proportions"


The female president could've despaired thinking to herself that humanity was way over its head to think that it can fight a species that nearly decimated them with with a single mothership that was designed for regular harvesting. seeing the armada would've humbled the cast that, "Oh shit, the first one was for farming, this, this is how they wage war."

Its actually impressive they made a movie this bad. Fan fiction is a vast improvement.

I made it 33 seconds through this video and had to pause it because it was just so damn bad. The acting was just so horrible. No wonder Will Smith didnt touch this pile of crap.

I have no idea how they fucked this up so badly, but wow did they fuck it up. Hell, I cant speak for anyone else, but this air battle seemed so much jankier than the ones from the first movie.

Also, just got to throw it out there, its stupid imho to think that the Aliens who didnt change fighter designs in at least 40 years between Roswell and the gorst movie would somehow have vastly better tech in just 20 years. Unlike Earth, they didnt have salvage to piggy back off of.

It's a shame independence day never got a sequel.....

the main mistake made in this battle wasn't the fact that they attacked head on, it was the fact that despite every fighter and bomber presumably having a fusion drive, they didn't use them to travel to the giant ship any quicker. they could've had an advantage or even won the battle because of the element of surprise
