INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE Clip - "Air Battle" (2016)

Humanity is so lucky these aliens actually sided with us in a larger galactic war. We have dinosaur aliens from alpha draconis who want to take over the galaxy but these independence day aliens (called gnomopo) are more powerful than the lizard empire! We also have the might of the annunaki empire as allies, this war against the Draconian empire will be short indeed.

Is it supposed to sound like star wars music?

Even without the aliens hack, I think the humans were always going to lose this fight. Yes, they had good ships and were well trained, but they were green as grass in a real battle. Whereas, the aliens have been killing worlds and their defenders for who knows how long. Whereas in the Independence Day, most of the pilots were all experienced combat pilots.

I know the government is hiding that kind of technology from the world

No Independence Day 3 due to the second movie was a disappointment. Top gun however did better with their second top Gun movie and I wonder why: maybe the F-14 shot down those Russian terror jets in that movie.

Why does the fighter jets look like they have su-57 heads??

If put in a cosmic scale, these Aliens are the weakest of the weakest; How to KO these Aliens? Simple; ANY weapon from Three Body can instantly annihilate these guys. The Droplet, is technically a bullet that has insane maneuverability, speed, infinite fuel, and impenetrable shell; A single Droplet can wipe out an entire fleet. Photoid Strike, antimatter bullet, and Dual Vector Foil could make quick and easy work of them.

I remember playing this level in Star Fox 64, and having a better time than these guys.

the spaceship designs were awesome for sure. not sure about essential diversity inserts though. I say this despite being an Asian.

Honestly those Fighters and Bombers have a perfect combination of American and Russian Designs.

Had those people back in 96 known this would be the sequel, they would have just let the aliens win. That would have made for a better plot…

love the designs for the cannons, turrets and fighters, the plot? meh, seem quite illogical considering how it's battle for humanity and they went to war so carelessly

Feel bad for the people working on this film. They did a amazing job but the story really need quite a few more rewrites and testing. This film just didn't have the heart that the first film had. Most of the characters from the first film was already killed off, gets killed off, or will eventually get killed off. Leaving only just a couple of guys from the first film and a bunch of new people. With 3 of them being big in their own right, Angela Baby, Liam Helmsworth and that guy that played A-train on 'The boys'.

Humanity had shields mounted on trucks, but none on their fighters or around their cities.

The film sucked, which was a shame. But you gotta admit, the ID4 series has the best aerial battles in the history of cinema. (only outperformed by Star Wars, sometimes, but that is Space Opera). I wish I could see a third Independence Day film, but considering the box office, it may not come true.

For some reason I can't enjoy this but to this day the first battle in the original is still epic in my humble opinion.

Why place shields on only th missles when they could've shielded the entire jets and also been done with the pilots when the missles blew

I had the best sleep of my life during this movie. Fell asleep in the 1st act and woke up during the credits.

The effects aren't horrible, but its the terrible acting particularly the fighter pilots. Liam Hemsworth is cheaper-to-hire-to-be-in-your- movie version of his bro Chris Hemsworth.
