I'm sorry but I disagree... clearly Assault had the best skybox in CS:S.

Ok can someone explain why is it better to have a small skybox model that appears big when you're on the map? Doesn't the game have to render it twice then? And if it's just a couple buildings the polygon count stays the same, no? Why not just have it... there then? On the real map already?

Csgo went from a 15gb game to 30gb. They could've just split souce 1 and source 2 into 2 different csgo games.

well... in order to keep the game running on wooden-mechanical-computers without problems... you need to reduce the details. i mean... the people would complain much more, when the reqiurements were like "i9 last generation, GTX 4090, 200 GB SSD, 32 GB RAM"... so... they did a great job on using as much as they could (in the new engine) while they use every single trick of saving performance on each map. look at the water details... or shadows. this are things... which needs much more performance than csgo does.

i am happy to see it on my own computer and not in such videos. hopefully they release it this month.

I'm not a CS player, but I am familiar with these maps as players are adapting them as mods for other games.
