Hi! May I ask if you have an idea about this, I have a wise account, online and card, the account is in € but would like to place an order with other currency. Do i have to make an account with the same currency or can i just use it in €? Thanks

Maybe one of you can explain the following on the wise home page on the bottom. "The Program is not intended to be a long-term investment option, checking or savings account, investment contract or security." I'm a lawyer and I contacted wise and they don't know either. This statement is highly problematic without further clarification. Just think about it for a second. What happens if you leave your money in there for too long and what is too long. Account closure? Locked account? What???

Edit: Wise and other affiliate channels delete above post. Interesting.

I struggled for days to get it to work out and it seems Wise do not want explain it in a simplest way with an example or by steps by steps guide I don't know why Wise are afraid of Giving their customers service help emails ..? Very odd when in today's era communicating with e MN ail is must

Can you tell me what do you think of using this card to protect against inflation? This card can convert your money to different currencies right? So what if i am scared that one day Malaysian Ringgit will collapse, so i decide to convert the money i put in Wise card to Singaporean Dollar or Euro or Swiss Franc? Do you think this is a cheap, easy, convenient way for a citizen in Malaysia to protect against Ringgit devaluation?

I have a Canadian Wise account. I do not see any option to open an account in IDR or any other currency other than ten (e.g., Turkish lira, Hungarian forint and others). But even this doesn't make sense as I read on the Wise site that Turkey and many other nations permit only sending money out, not in. Have I misunderstood? Is there something special about a wise account for Singapore residents? Also, I do not see how a non-resident of Singapore can link his Singapore bank account to Wise. Oh, and Wise cards take bout two weeks for delivery here rather than within one week. Perhaps this is due to the inefficiencies of Canada Post versus Singapore Post. Or maybe Canadian cards are sent from USA? All in all I still find Wise confusing. It is probably better value than the competition (banks) though.

update: After poking around I found the following on the Wise website...

"You can add money to your account in these currencies: AUD, BGN, BRL*, CAD, CNY* CHF, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HUF, IDR*, JPY, MYR*, NOK, NZD, PLN, RON, SEK, SGD, TRY and USD.

*BRL: you need to be a Brazilian tax resident to add money in BRL

*CNY: only if you're eligible to send money from CNY

*IDR: can be used to top up any balance except IDR

*MYR: only Malaysian residents can top up their MYR balance directly by MYR."

regarding *Sending money*...

"MYR from any bank account in Malaysia (only available if you're a resident in Malaysia and only supported for personal accounts)."

Indonesian rupiah? Not even on the list. So, how were you able to do this? SGD can only be added from Singapore bank accounts. It doesn't say that the transaction has to be from a Singapore resident. So, Singapore clearly has more of a free market in international financial transactions than both Malaysia and Indonesia.
Although even this is not absolute, there are still capital controls according to what I read. I presume this is due to geopolitics and Nation-State control of currencies.

Just ordered my Wise physical card using my credit card and the bank charged RM18 cash advance fee as according to them, Wise is categorized as an investment company and hence the advance fee is charged. I've explained that this is not cash withdrawal but only to pay for the physical card. Have you heard of anyone facing the same situation before? My worry is that they are going to charge me RM18 every time I add cash into Wise. Kindly advise.

Users do need to know - if you use the interest account, you can only ever withdrw is "97%" WISE WILL keep 3%. its in the terms and conditions "1. If you add or receive money, we'll invest it in the fund we’ve chosen. 2. If you spend, or send, money we'll sell some of your investment. 3. You can only take out up to *97% of your Balance or Jar"
Its why theres a warning about "getting less than you put in" . So... in theory all the money you earned in the interest account, can be taken and wiped out by that 3% and then some...
[EDIT: My Assumption maybe incorrect- this is currently being looked into/tested]

Why is it that my Wise card can't be swiped when making payment and that I had to key in my PIN? I've tried it a few times and still the problem persists. I'm a Malaysian and if I have a Singapore dollars balance in my Wise account, what is the maximum Singapore dollars that I can withdraw from Singapore ATM and is there a minimum withdrawal sum? Also, which type of ATMs can I withdraw Singapore dollars for free?
