Why they still have this nonsense! We have sat navs now. Before you could do the knowledge in 7 months. Then they made it harder. Now with sat navs it's not necessary depriving someone of their time and from their family. The test needs to be half of what it is now. At present it's to much time even at half it's to much time but it's manageable. Easier to become an astronaut.

I watched this and I got kinda excited. I've only been to the UK once in 2005 when I was 13 and I kinda wanna go back and learn the knowledge and become a taxi driver. That seems awesome!
I should probably try to become a taxi driver in my native Stockholm first though. Get experience driving a taxi and such.

ALWAYS ASK A TAXI DRIVER WHEN I NEED DIRECTIONS, THANKS , I TOOK A BUS FROM TORONTO AIRPORT TO TORONTO BUS STATION I ASKED A TAXI DRIVER TO TAKE ME TO TORONTO TRAIN STATION HE SAID SURE JUMP IN THEN DROVE ME TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE BUILDING WHERE THE TRAIN STATION WAS!!!!😇

Anyone else find it odd that she introduces herself as Ms Channels and the he refers to her as Ma'am? The UK really tries to enforce class and distinction at every level. They are both adults. She has what is probably a very average job but they are acting like there is a huge age and/or class divide between them. Here in Ireland, you maybe use Mr/Mrs but that is pretty much dropped once you become an adult. Even at University I was on a first name basis with my professors.

For 40 thousand pounds? That’s it? They should be paid more if they need to be this knowledgeable or the test needs to be easier

40k entry is insulting these dudes should be starting at like 100k. This was round one and he essentially was prepared to be able to tell the most direct route with types of turns onto streets between any of 100,000 locations.

My dad does this for a living. Took him 2.5 years to do the knowledge, the average is 3-4 years. You have to remember, that they also work full-time as mini cab drivers as well. Even though we don't talk anymore, I'll always respect the amount of brain power it took my dad to get through it, and I have never doubted his intellect!

How are they only getting 40k for this.

While i give him massive respects, it feels a little old fashioned to have to remember all that when we have modern day technology.

I feel so ashamed of myself. I never even knew that taxi drivers need to do these near-impossible tests, so I never saw being a taxi driver to be a "hard job", you just gotta drive safe and keep yourself safe from malicious clients, especially at night.
But there is so much more than that to the job and now I hold the upmost respect for people putting in the effort, blood and sweat into the job.
Truly magnificent workers.
