Actually, in Somalia the GSG 9 did not fight the RAF but four lightly armed terrorists from the libenese PFLP. They did breach and clear a number of apartments and houses in the search for Schleyer in 1977 but to no avail. In 1982 they arrested terrorists Brigitte Mohnhaupt and Adelheid Schulz at an RAF weapons depot in a wooded area near Kaiserslautern. The only major encounter between terrorists from the RAF and GSG 9 forces occured in 1993 in Bad Kleinen when they tried to arrest two terrorists and it ended in a major desaster that led to the resignation of the german federal minister of the interior.

The SAS are the best. Not the biggest but the best. They are very 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪. I'm ex Royal Navy and got to work with them on board hms intrepid which was an LPD. I t also had a small flight deck. They came on board in 1987 when we were going up to Norway for a NATO exercise. Like I said, I got to work with them. I filled up their tea run with new not water.😂😂😂

What is not known is who trains these teams. When U have SBS & SAS, the most elite units in the world, training soldiers. They do not fail. It was a success. No surprise.
