Hey Dean, happy new year!
I've owned the RC-300 for years and only recently bought the Boomerang. Did you ever bother checking or updating its firmware? It looks like it's quite a complicated process..
edit: So after looking it up on Reddit, Gearslutz etc, I decided to try it out. The manual advises against using a Mac to upgrade the firmware on the Boomerang, but I don't have a Windows machine and I'm happy to report I was able to upgrade successfully.
Boomerang is my choice. More of a plug n' play easier, smaller unit. The RC300 seems a bit overkill for me. Thanks for the review !
ОтветитьOK... if Boomerang deletes all memory when unplugging How do you take it to a gig?
ОтветитьOK.. if Boomerang deletes ALL work when unplugging...... doh......
ОтветитьThe BOOMERANG is Killer, definitely the best Looper out there, and takes up much less space on your board !
ОтветитьI have both boomerangs and one feature I love on the old one is the option to stack only when foot is pressing on pedal. So with a loop running you could say hit a harmonic on your guitar then tap the stack button in quick succession and get this awesome run of percussive like sounds. A nice organic effect that I'm pretty sure not many used because I couldn't find a way to use stack button on Rang2 in same way 🙂
ОтветитьI was looking for something for leading worship. There are times when the band set up would be limited (no drums or bass), so it looks like the RC-300 might be the better option for me.
ОтветитьSuper helpful
ОтветитьI was wondering, can you use the Boss rc 500 and the Boomerang together? Do you need any special equipment such as a midi clock....I have a bunch of loopers..but these 2 would give me 6 independent channels which would be perfect for me...the ehx looper is too confusing for me.
ОтветитьHi Dean,
Thanks for uploading. I currently have the rc300 and it's such a powerful tool. It is big though and I would like something smaller that can certain aspects of the rc300. With the boomerang can I tap a tempo in to with an external footswitch the fs5u or even use a button on it to tap a tempo in then send midi from it to control other bpms? Is there an undo button like on the rc300? So can I undo the last loop in each bank like you can on the rc300? Basically if I make.a mistake can I undo it and quickly do it again? I want to able to make say bank 1 in the boomerang take my kick sound and only play for 1 bar so it's super tight then use the other banks say for 12 bars? Sorry for all the questions ha.
Have you tried connecting boomerang to rc300 via midi? Or a 3rd rc300 using midi thru
ОтветитьThank you very much for this review. The panning it’s what i'm looking for for months!
ОтветитьVery helpful--thanks for posting this comparison.
ОтветитьYay! Thank you Dean! Great video.
