MySQL Tutorial for Beginners [Full Course]

This course is four years old. If you try to use the latest Community editions of Server and Workbench, at least for mac, you'll get incompatibility warnings for Workbench. In the archives, you can find the versions Mosh is using.

As a teacher I really appreciate the hands-on examples that are given, very well made!

MUST READ: The database files need to be updated to newer versions. Please follow these steps:

1. Open the file in an editor.

2. Use the 'Find & Replace' feature.

Replace the following:

"tinyint(4)" with "tinyint"

"int(11)" with "int"

"smallint(6)" with "smallint"

"SET NAMES utf8" with "SET NAMES utf8mb4"


By making these replacements, the databases will be imported correctly.

Why I am unable to find zip file for database???

I was stuck with MySQL server installation and about to give up learning database management. When I first installed it myself, it did not accept any password that I gave. I could not establish any connection and move further as it demanded a password but did not allow me to set one. I reinstalled MySql using your video and it worked. You are a life saver.

about dowloading mysql on windows microsoft, i guess the way of downloading has been changed it has server only, client only, full, custom, but doesnt have devoloper default

I tried downloading as per the steps mentioned by you in Oct 2023- could not find the options you mentioned and had to take help from a more recent video to download mysql. Other than that- amazing. I think, the answer for the first exercise in REGEXP should be: REGEXP '^elka$|^ambur$'. Cause 'elka|ambur' will give results that contain "elka" or "ambur" not only the ones that are equal to "elka" or "ambur".

Brother, I have a doubt regarding after installation of mysql in windows. there it shows with a lack of clarity in mysql while u were installing it in windows. Later section, it is resolved. Even i got this issue. I face lack of clarity (visually) while i open my mysql workbench. Could you help me resolving this issue? Do anyone know how to resolve this issue?
