Mecool KM2 4K Google TV Streaming Player : Better than Chromecast with Google TV?

It's main claim to fame over the chromcast tv is the built in usb ports BUT due to Storage Access Framework issue, you CAN'T WRITE files to usb thumb drives which are not formatted as internal storage.

Cant get 5.1 from files that is on usb storeges only 2.0 :(

How do I update it to google tv?

Bought one from banggood couple days ago - sorry would of used your link if I'd saw your vid earlier ;-) Although have 2 shields, this is ideal for my mother as I was just gonna get her a Google TV but this remote is more user friendly & that little extra RAM will help I guess. Also cheaper slightly here in UK. Anyway great review man - subbed 👍

LAN is not gigabit according to some of the other reviews. Also it's missing a pause button which I do not like.

I love my Shield but I don't want to buy another one for the bedroom TV. Mecool makes great boxes and are a good alternative to the Shield if you just want to watch TV.
