New Apple Magic Trackpad 2022... My New Favorite iPad Pro Accessory!!!

I really don't understand if there's a V3 or there's just a V2 silently updated. What is the different serial number?

Does anyone use it with their iPad? If it’s a good experience, I may pick one up whenever they release one with USB-C charging.

Might have missed it but does the pinch to zoom and such gestures work? I’m a product designer who uses figma, and sometimes I travel without my laptop so wanted to know if it would work if I need to work on my iPad in a pinch.

I am upgrading my iPad Air 4 to a 12.9 pro this week,,,,I have the Magic ipad Keyboard for my air but I mainly use the trackpad and not really much typing so I think this would be perfect for me as have a spare iMac keyboard also.

Not sure if it's cause I'm on beta but the original magic track pad(with removable batteries) is crippled in iPad OS. No gestures, no 2 finger scroll, no tap to click. Really sucks the magic out of the track pad. It still fully functions with Sonoma though.

Edit: Just tried using it on the iPad again through universal control and everything works. It just iPadOS that doesn't play nice, hopefully the driver's updated by the time they release it.

Getting a pad for a device that’s has a touch screen is about as pointless as they get. I’ll just assume it great for iMac cuz they both apple products

Thinking of getting one of these, I like my iPad air's folio case, and I already have a logi Bluetooth keyboard, its just scrolling in between test for editing with copy past and fixing error SO annoying with how imprecise touch is. This is expensive but its way cheaper then the magic keyboard. And I don't want to be switching between the two cases when I wanna laze on my bed or the lean back in my desk chair.

There are no answers even after calling apple's official support.. before buying a trackpad I want to know if whilst using a magic trackpad with an ipad pro - when you need to type something and the digital keyboard comes up - can you actually point the cursor over the letters and click them to type? I'd love too know also if you could use the trackpad with Gboard's "swipe to type" feature on ipad pro? If someone could text/answer this- I sincerely appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Everyone hates the mouse. I love it. I need to model 3D prints. Much easier with a mouse compared to the trackpad. It may not be the best and it’s overpriced but it gets wayyyy more hate then it deserves.

One of the greatest letdowns is the fact that you can’t pair the trackpad to a MacBook as well. It appears that you have to disconnect & repair each time.

So this is for iPad and not a Mac mini or desktop computer?

just to let ever one know the mouse is terrible. it moves fast or slow when ti wants to. the sensitivity changes on its own.

Hi ATG. Just purchased one for my iPad. Using an iPad there is no way to monitor charging like you can on a Mac. And there are no LEDs to indicate low or fully charged. I’ve read charging for 2 hours usually gets it to Full Charge. But since there are no LED to indicate low charge, what performance behavior happens to let you know it needs charging?

I have chronic pain and really bad mouse shoulder from working all day at my desk. And trackpads seem to reduce the motion that triggers it. This one looks great, hoping to pick one up soon. Great review! :)

What happened to mouses

You prefer physical click/force touch or Tap to Click on your Magic Keyboard and MacBook Trackpads? I have issues with incidental activations when using tap to click.

Over the past 2 years I have been transitioned to Mac 🖥 devices. I am still t a loss as to why I would need this device. Would you please create a real world use of the Magic Trackpad vs logitech mouse? This may help me decide if this is good for me. BTW i use LogicPro on a daily basis for podcast production.

This trackpad is completely unnecessary. We purchase ipad for touch screen, then why again purchasing a touch pad LOL🤣. Waste of money
