Knot of the Week: Trucker's Hitch

Not even close to a truckers knot. Fake news ! LOL

Wtf was that? Do you even know what a trucker's hitch is or what is it for? Also, never saw a knot video with so many dislikes...

Please show me how to tie the knot. I’m not gonna find your other vids to learn part of the knot.

How crazy is to think you can teach something and then say "I'm not going to go to much into a critical

isn't a trucker hitch.. point to a this knot is so you can pull on the rope and get it to tighten while it holds the knot itself.... FAIL!

Next time you see a truck with a load tied down with rope, go and have a look at he knots and ask the driver to show you how. The video is well executed though.

Nice elaborate knot. I would like to know the purpose of all those knots together. I think I could tie the same thing with a different knot and make it much simpler. All those knots must have a purpose, if they are there just to make it fancy then, it is not my kind of knot.

The trucker's hitch is probably one of the most useful rope devices that everyone should know. I use it all the time at work and in the outdoors, but this is not a version that I am familiar with. There are several other methods of tying this hitch that I would recommend learning over this one if you plan on using it on a regular basis.

A single 1/2 hitch around the bite will suffice to secure it. I use this knot on a regular basis.

Interesting, but definitely not a trucker's hitch as understood in the UK. I will try it out to see if it jams under load, but a truckers hitch, or dolly hitch, will allow a 3-1 or 5-1 advantage if you double up the lower loop.
