The allies had no chance of winning world war 2 with out the US, it is not because of how we fought it was because of the powerhouse of our industrial might at the time, even the soviet union would not have survived if it wasnt for the crucial war supplies we provided them.

For the Germans, starting the war was not about winning, it was about destruction.

Germany didn't really declare as much as acknowledged that we had already been at war, in the Atlantic. Hitler's only reason for attacking France was to facilitate the invasion of the Soviet Union. Once he cleared out the continent he wanted peace with the British but they weren't having any of that, so he went ahead with Barbarossa and lost everything.

Also the Russians where always planning for war with Germany and the English rejected peace deals with Hitler so those 2 didn't make sense to much. Lastly not to play down the us the russians would have beaten germany eventually due to the fuel shortage and man power shortage by the time the battle of stalingrad. but it was more of an overestimate that the Japanese could deal with the us and Germany thinking it could beat Russia the turn west. I think the only way Germany could have potentially won. Is by waiting to start their invasion in the late 40s or early to mid 1950s. They didn't have the infrastructure or command structure for a continuous and protracted war.

They could have won if hitler had listened to his general and moved his panzer divisions towards Normandy, but he didn’t, and it gave the allies the foot hold they needed in Europe and the rest is history

well the whole point was war with russia, as in the first world war. they only invaded france/belgium because of treaties and to cover their flank while doing so. russia was trying to do what germany did 20 years earlier, invading poland to free all the oppressed workers. any excuse is a good excuse.

How about not be obsessed with murdering so many people of the countries they invaded....how about instead of being evil .... storming into villages and machine gunning down citizens which then culminated with the holocaust....they tried being benevolent and built those nations they invaded as we did with Germany and Japan after we won..... perhaps that would've helped too.

Wrong. If Hitler delayed 1 year, finished the " heavy water experiments" developed the V-2, the world would be speaking Deutschland today. So we got really lucky.

your changing the characters of the germans, the invasion of the Soviet Union *was* the ultimate goal of hitler and the nazi's, and either way, if the germans didn't strike first, the soviets would've.

No no no. So this is so easy as Germany couldn't really afford a war on several front. Firstly don't invade Russia. While still invading uk. Go all out invade uk. U.s can't land troops. And to try retake uk while japanese were all out to get them wouldn't have been ideal. So staying would have been left to the germs. Witch with conscripts now from all uk. He wouldn't need to split his army and he would be able to concentrate on starlin. When starlin fell. America would be next. But by then the Americans would have the atom bomb and Germany would have tried to negotiate a truce. End of ww2 Germany now hold 3/5 of the world's economies. He could also take Spain and most of Africa with no one to stop his march

#1 was tried. Did not work. Hitler went after Russia for two reasons: England was waiting for USSR to turn on Hitler and holding out for American entry, and Hitler knew Stalin would attack Germany.

# 3 was the most viable of these three, but Hitler borked it by bonking the U.S.; if he had held off I believe the U.S. populace would've forced Roosevelt to make the main effort in the Pacific.

But Churchill and Roosevelt were planning a Europe first campaign well before 12-7-1941. Hitler made it easier for them.

If japan never went to war with america, then i would bet that germany wouldve had a good chance at defeating the european allies. Maybe being able to land in the british isles.

Only the last one is realistic, Germany did not need to declare war on the US, they didn't need to uphold a guarantee for Japan. USSR has to be invaded, that's the whole point of the war.

Most people don't know that half of all the people lost in World War II Russians (Soviets). Great Britain and the United States would have never been able to invade if the Russians were not fighting 2/3 of the Germans.

Germany was doomed from start when hitlers inner circle met for first time because they all hated each other!

War with Russia is what ultimately led to the downfall of Germany, however war with Russia was a matter of when not if, and the intent was to strike early while Russia was still struggling to get on its feet, rather than later when Russia had more means to fight, either way Germany still struck too late.
